I got up the next morning and went to meet the pack at school. Then I remembered that I didn't have a pack anymore. I walked up the steps and into the school. I saw Liam, Stiles and Lydia next to my locker. I went towards them and started messing with the stuff from my locker.

"Hey..." Stiles said quietly.

"Hi." I answered just as quietly.

"Look, I just want you to know that I- we're here for you if you need anything," I smiled at them. Stiles continued talking to Lydia.

"Can you believe that my dad doesn't talk to any of his friends from high school anymore?" Stiles told her, indignant.

"And he was really close to them," He added.

"Do you think that is going to happen to us?" I asked, but then stoped abruptly. What did I mean "us"? There was no more "us". That had already happened to "us". I was no longer part of the pack. Thankfully no one seemed to notice my mistake as they just moved on.

"I don't know. That's what I am worried about." The bell rang and I went to class.

"Meet us later?" Stiles called after me and I gave him a thumbs up.

Class, like always, was boring. Time passed slowly and the sound of the clock ticking was like a metronome. Finally, after laborious hours, I went home and Liam came with me so we could talk.

I was pretty worried about the whole friends just falling apart when they go to college. What Stiles had said really worried me. I couldn't lose the pack. It was the closest thing to family I ever had. Liam and I were in my room. I was fiddling mindlessly with the markers on my desk. I had started clipping the markers to my sleeve absentmindedly when Liam spoke.

"What's on your mind?" Liam asked.

"I'm just worried about what Stiles said," I confessed.

"Why?"

"Well, I don't want to lose the pack when we all go our different ways."

"Well, Scott is going to end up leaving, but that doesn't mean we're going to be left without an alfa." Liam comforted me. I wondered what he meant by that.

"Liam, I don't think Theo's going to be here to be the alfa either," I told him. He looked offended for some reason.

"I wasn't talking about Theo." Then I noticed what he was saying.

"What, you don't think I could fill in for Scott?"

"What? Sure you can!" I noticed my face must have shown otherwise because he looked deeply offended.  "I believe in you!" I told him, and he smiled at me.

"Even if the pack does leave, at least we're still going to have each other. And Scott isn't going to leave in a long time. He's still a junior."

I smiled and hugged him and he stroked my hair. "I'm going to go meet Lydia and Stiles,"
