I was stuck in a box. Or was it an elevator? That wasn't what mattered this second, I had to get out of here. It was completely dark, so I felt along the surfaces of the box for an exit, but was unsuccessful. I pounded on the box, but it was useless. I heard voices. They were chanting something. Was it another language? Maybe Latin? The voices became louder and louder. Then, out of nowhere, I was in horrible pain. I writhed but the box was too small. It seemed to be shrinking. "Let me out! Stop! LET ME OUT!" I started screaming at the top of my lungs.

I woke up screaming and someone was holding me.

"Y/N, hey, calm down! It was just a nightmare." It was Alaric. Jenna was in the doorway, looking at me very worried.

"Yeah, it was just a nightmare. I'm fine. Thanks, Ric." I got up and left.

Thankfully I had slept in my sweatpants and t-shirt, instead of pyjamas, because I had just noticed what I was wearing when I was five minutes away from home. Today I was turning fifteen, which meant that in about four days, I was going to be a freshman. But there was only one thing I was looking forward to. Meeting Kai, because I had finally found someone who I could relate to. I texted Kai to meet me and went to get coffee at the grill. They usually didn't serve coffee, but I knew the owner and he always made himself a cup and kept one for me.

Once I entered I saw a familiar figure sitting at one of the bar stools.

"Damon!" I said excitedly. "How's dear Elena?"

He took a swig of whatever was in the cup.

"Extremely angry at you." He said, without taking his eyes off his glass. "What the hell are you doing here? Aren't you a little young to drink?" Damon inquired.

"Not too young for coffee."

"Okay, I'm going to drop the act. You pushed your own cousin down the stairs for breaking a stupid glass ball. What in the hell's wrong with you?"

"Mental problems, probably. And, by the way, it was not because of the globe, it was because of the fact that she treats me like trash and doesn't tell me why."

"Oh, man. You're literally the only one who doesn't know, but now I'm pretty sure now it's because you pushed her down the stairs. She could have died, you know." I was starting to get angry at him.

"You know, right when I thought we could be friends, you go and act all Stefan."

"You're right. Here, have some." He said, sliding a glass towards me.

"I'm fifteen, I can't drink."

"Come on! Right when I thought we could be friends you go and act all Stefan." He said, in a high pitch voice, imitating me. I rolled my eyes.
