Ty and I had stood next to that hole in the ground for a long while, holding each other, him whispering all of the things I thought I'd needed him to reassure me of. In all actuality I knew all of those things, they were carved into my bones, tattooed on my soul. They'd been there the very first time Ty had kissed me under the exploding Siofra sky, he'd awakened something deep inside of me I didn't even know existed. There was no turning back now, not ever. I didn't know it then, but I did now and I wasn't going to keep questioning it any longer.
I'd also spent some time apologizing, properly, to him and promising I'd do the same to Maya. I was usually much more respectful than I'd been the other night, but we agreed he would need to slowly allow us to get to know each other. Like as slow as molasses during the dead of winter.
We made our way back to Difoda Palace shortly after five, only having to stop once so we could snack on some wild berries, which surprisingly I'd been able to pick out without Ty's assistance. So, maybe I had picked up some useful things from all that studying Luna had me doing.
As we made our way, arm in arm passed the training grounds where Knox simply nodded his head at us while he boxed a sandbag, we continued towards Luna who was sitting pretty on the fountain, her face pointed towards the sky, a serene smile on her lips. When we got closer, she eyed the two of us, her eyes squinting in confusion.
"Well, what do we have here? Mud wrestling, children?"
With my arms wrapped around Ty's, he looked down at me, gripped my chin and grinned, "Something like that," before he'd dabbed my lips with his.
"No more questioning Elune?"
Ty broke the tender lip lock, pulling back slightly, his ashy orbs twinkling, a smirk dancing on his lips, "I didn't tell her."
"Tyron!" Luna scolded him, but I couldn't tell if it was playfully or not.
"Tell me what?" I looked to Luna who had her brow raised.
"Well go on, tell her," she nodded at him, shaking her head with a smile.
"Ty?" my eyes searching his, wondering what I'd missed.
"Hmm, I'll explain it tomorrow, after we've had a decent nights sleep," he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
Rolling my eyes, I felt my lips pursing. I wasn't known for my patience and curiosity tended to get the best of me.
"Fine," Luna stated flatly as if she had a choice in the matter. I guess she could send us back into the forest if she wanted, but it wasn't likely she'd be doing that any time soon. We'd learned a lesson, or two. "Senna has cooked a special dinner for this evening, please go shower and be downstairs by the time the sun sets."
As Ty and I made our way up to the fourth floor on a casual stroll, I couldn't help myself.
"So, this thing you have to tell me. Am I going to like it?"
As we stepped onto our floor, Ty shrugged his shoulders.
"Hard to say, you're a bit temperamental on a good day," he winked at me as he dropped the rucksack inside the kitchen doorway. Slapping his chest playfully, I shook my head. His damn resolve was too strong for me.
"Go, take a shower. I'm going to rest my eyes. If I fall asleep, wake me up so we don't miss dinner," he explained as we made our way into our bedroom.
Nodding my head, he kissed me a few more times before smacking my butt playfully while I walked into the bathroom. Turning on the shower and giving it time to warm up, I quickly stripped out of my clothes, wondering if Juno would be able to get the muddy stains out of my clothes and quite disappointed my boots were ruined. I'd really liked them. As I dropped my leggings to the ground, a gentle plink sound caught my ears.
