When I'd napped earlier in the day, I hadn't dreamt at all, but I definitely was now. It hadn't taken me long to drop off once my head hit the pillow, the gentle sound of rain hitting the window above my bed lulling me into sleep.

At first, all I could see was white. There was no light, or darkness, or any details at all, just an empty void of nothingness. It was eerie, like a sterile waiting room.

Normally my dreams were wild, colourful and more often than not, filled with Faye.

But this one was very different; I was more aware of myself and my surroundings, the cold chill of the air felt real against my bare arms. I looked down to see I was wearing the old t-shirt and boxers I'd fallen asleep in.

Then suddenly, as quickly as I'd felt the cold, the air around me warmed, the void in which I found myself shifted, four walls materialising, caging me in.

"Ty? Is that you?!"

As soon as her voice met my ears, my heart began to pound heavier in my chest. Two days I'd gone without hearing it and the sound of it now almost felt too good to be true. I turned around quickly, trying to find the source of where it had come from, only to find a materialising blurred shape in the corner of the room.

I knew it was Faye before she became clear, just by the sight her light blonde hair trailing down the front of her shirt and the familiar curve of her bare legs. As she solidified, the room surrounding us burst into colour. Dark mauve walls and a grey couch pulled out into a bed, the covers pulled back like someone had been sleeping there – it looked like a sitting room.

I looked around the room, but only briefly, before my eyes settled onto Faye.

"Katinar?"

As I walked around the sofa, she rushed to meet me.

I expected to feel, well, nothing. I'd touched my Mate a thousand times in my dreams and each time had felt the same – which was hardly surprising, since it wasn't real; but it hadn't mattered then. There was nothing stopping me from waking up, rolling over and touching her for real.

But as her arms locked around my neck, I was abruptly aware of how different it was this time. I could feel the warmth of her body against mine, the soft touch of her skin against the nap of my neck, her familiar smell – her honest to Goddess, absolutely fucking amazing smell! It turned my sense into a dizzy mess.

I wrapping my arms around her and lifted her off her feet, clinging her to me tightly as I buried my face into the soft crook of her neck. "You feel so real."

Her fingers tunnelled into my hair. "I can actually feel your breath on my skin, Ty!"

I placed her back onto her feet and begrudgingly pulled back to look at her. My hands cupped at her cheeks, making my fingertips tingle. "How is this...possible? I know I'm dreaming but I've never been so aware of it before."

Her hands rested against my chest. "I think we're asleep at the same time, sharing the same dream. I can feel your heartbeat!" Everything seemed to amaze her as much as the last.

I couldn't stop touching her, even as my hands slid down to her waist, I never dropped contact. "You're wearing my shirt."

She laughed and the sound lighted up my insides. "Are you safe, Ty? Where are you?"

I looked around at the dark room. "Where are you?"

"I'm at Mallory's apartment," Faye told me, looking around. "As you can see. Now answer my question."

I opened my mouth to tell her, but the room shifted once more, the mauve walls and sofa melted away in place of the room I shared with Rune at the Inn, all dark grey stone and rickety wooden furniture.

"I'm in Seran," I told her, watching as she glanced around the room quickly, her nose scrunching in disdain.

"You're sleeping here?"

I touched my forehead to hers, dragging her attention back to me. "It'll do. We're only going to be here for another couple of nights. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Have you seen your family? Are you okay?"

Her bright blue eyes locked into mine and I felt like she was looking directly into my soul. I missed being in her head, feeling and seeing what was going on in there. "I've seen them."

"And?"

"And it didn't go over too well. They think I'm staying here for good."

My heart skipped a beat. "But...you're not, right?"

"No!" Faye exclaimed. "I miss you so fucking much, Ty! Even the sight of Anne and her husband made me jealous and that's never happened before. Looking at them makes me miss you more."

The tip of my nose brushed against hers. "I miss you more than you'll ever know my Faye."

As she spoke, the room once more blurred away, the dark stone replaced by a light, airy kitchen, two humans stood near the counter – one male and one very pregnant looking female.

I instantly recognised the blonde woman as Anne. I'd seen her in the Milana Orb a few times. This must have been what Faye had seen; talking about it had conjured the image in her mind and influenced our dream.

I lifted my head from Faye to watch as the man touched his wife's swollen belly then ducked down to press a kiss to the same spot.

Smiling, I stepped away from my Mate and reached down to undo the bottom buttons on her shirt. I pushed the material aside and pressed my palm against her flat stomach, the warmth of her skin radiating through my hand, before I dropped down, balancing on my toes as I kissed the spot just above her bellybutton.

Her wide smile made my stomach flip.

I'd definitely done the right thing.

As I stood up, I winked at her. "No need to be jealous anymore."

Faye wound her hand behind my neck, pulling me towards her. "Hell, I love you Tyron Thorn."

Our lips met and I felt it in every cell in my body, lighting me up brighter than the sun. The kiss was slow but deep, our tongues melding together, my teeth catching at her bottom lip. I could feel myself getting excited, my boxers getting tighter as her bare thigh brushed against my hardening length.

Only a couple of days away from her were suddenly feeling like a couple of months.

A gentle tug at my back broke our kiss apart and I instantly knew what it meant.

I groaned. "I'm waking up."

A hint of sadness touched at her face. "Damn time difference."

I brushed my knuckles against her cheek, a grin tugging at my lips. "You fell asleep too late."

"Do you think this'll happen again?"

"I don't know. Hopefully?" I bloody well prayed to Elune that it did. Seeing her like this was going to make being apart so much easier.

As the room began to fade out, I quickly pressed one last kiss to her lips. "I love you, my Faye. I'll be waiting here for you tomorrow night."
