Fluttering my eyes open to the early morning sunlight filtering into our room, I found Ty's arm wrapped around my waist, and our legs tangled together. I laid there for quite a while, watching him sleep. He was so peaceful and calm in these moments when he rested his mind; I wanted to capture it and frame it. Remembering my phone was still in the sitting room where Ty had tossed it during our argument last night, I realized I didn't only want grainy pictures from our camera phones. I doubted engagement pictures were a thing on Siofra, but I wanted them. Rayne had a camera and was decent with it. I wondered if she wouldn't mind doing an impromptu photoshoot for Ty and me one of these days.

Dropping a soft kiss on Ty's lips, I carefully untangled his limbs from mine. Poor guy didn't even budge when I scooted away; he had to be exhausted. As soon as my feet hit the cold marble flooring, my eyes landed on some leatherbound books and a small tied box that hadn't been there when I'd crawled into bed.

'Or maybe they had been there, and I was too pissed to notice?'

I thought about it for a moment and recalled Ty making his way to my side of the bed before he crawled under the covers. Shaking my head, I carefully untied the small white box and found a small glass container filled with white and dark blue bath salts. Unscrewing the lid, the smell of jasmine and bellflower filled my senses. It was light and refreshing, a perfect combination for something I could use if I took a bath in the morning. Glancing over my shoulder, I couldn't help but grin at my darling Ty. He was too sweet for his own good.

Replacing the lid to the salts, I picked up the books and brushed my fingers across the gold embossed lettering. Whether Ty realized it or not, he'd picked up a first edition of The Graceling, one of the first romantic fantasy books I'd read on Siofra. The other was one I hadn't heard of, but couldn't wait to dig into; Pestilence was the tale of the Four Horsemen and contained a human character.

Holding them to my chest, I turned so I could look at my Mate. If I didn't think Ty needed more sleep, I might have considered waking him for another round of love-making. Instead, I leaned back across the bed and placed a soft kiss on his forehead before I dropped my head to his and sent 'Kyela' through our link. Not knowing if he would hear it in his sleep or not, I took that chance.

Padding into the bathroom, I took a quick shower and got dressed as quietly as possible. Ty slept like a rock through any of the noise I'd made, and as I pulled the door to our room shut, I realized I hadn't stopped smiling since I'd found my gifts from Ty's tour in Seran.

Making my way to the kitchen for breakfast dressed in some distressed blue jean shorts and a long sleeve paisley pink printed peasant style top with a pair of jeweled sandals, I found Maya and Knox holding hands at the breakfast bar. As I made my way towards them, Knox noticed me first and quickly pulled his hand away while his bright honey-colored eyes followed me. Maya glanced over her shoulder at me before she straightened up in her chair.

"Good morning Faye, is my son still sleeping?" she asked, her voice a few octaves higher than necessary. Senna rolled her eyes at me as she'd watched the whole exchange while she flipped eggs on the skillet.

"Morning, and yes, he is. Maya, do you mind if we have a word?" I grabbed a strawberry muffin from the basket and made my way towards the door that led into the rear courtyard. Pushing it open, I waited for Maya to catch up to me.

Ty's mother was beautiful and petite, soft and gentle in all the ways that made her a gorgeous looking woman. Yet, her striking eyes and quick wit told you she was a mother who knew how to rule her roost.

"Is everything alright, Faye?" she asked quietly as she followed me to a wrought iron patio table and chairs and took a seat. Crossing her legs, Maya's gentle gaze traveled from my shoes, up to my bare legs, across my pink top, and finally landed on my face. Maya was much more conservative than I tended to dress, although aside from the shorts today, I felt I looked appropriate. She and my mother would get along well.
