Having Maya at Difoda was...different. Although Luna was the Madame of the house, Maya swooped in and took over as if she'd ran the palace her entire life. Maya and Willa got on pretty well, coming up with new chore lists for each person in the household to accomplish. Although Maya had been a teacher, she fell right in sync with helping manage such a large house.
The first few days were a bit awkward, and I kept mostly to myself at mealtimes. It was made easier by the stories Maya, Ty, and Rune told of the two best friends in their youth. Maya gave the parental aspect of things while the guys tossed jabs at each other about who got in worse trouble, each wearing their punishment like a medal of honor. It was quite endearing. They reminded me of my brothers, Mitchell and Lance.
I was beginning to miss home more and more. Ty knew. He'd sense my sadness, and without words or much thought, he would squeeze my knee, grip my hand, or cast his own sad eyes at me in acknowledgment. I know he fears what could happen if I go back to Earth, even for a short visit. Upon the return of Artemis and Nero from the Elder Summit, the possibility of a visit grew.
Artemis explained the surge of energy the other Elders were seeing was increasing the power of the remaining Helath Orbs. Apparently, the Orbs fed off of good energy, and the more of it there was, the stronger they became. Artemis had mentioned to me a few days after his return, he would be making a trip to Earth soon, and I was welcome to join him. I had mentioned it to Ty, but he was worried Artie was going to get my hopes up and didn't want me to make any plans until the Orb was at full health. The conversation was effectively tabled.
Ty and I quickly fell into a comfortable routine with each other, and the more time we spent together, the stronger our connection became. There were times when he would be in Amethyst Falls with Willa or Senna for supplies, and we'd have an entire conversation with each other solely through our link.
One afternoon, Ty and Maya had returned to Eryl, accompanied by Knox, to survey the damage done to their cottage. Although I hadn't joined, knowing this was a very personal and sentimental challenge the two of them had to face, it felt like I was there with how vivid the mental images were that ran through my mind.
When Ty and Maya had returned...Ty held nothing back in the way he punished my body with his release. Just thinking about that night had me clenching my thighs together. I surrendered everything to him, and he took it, returning his gratefulness in multiple glorious orgasms.
As for our duties, Ty's training had come to an end, meaning he would most likely be asked to go on Missions for Artemis, and this thought made me sick to my stomach. It wasn't unheard of for Artemis and Knox to visit another Elder for a few weeks, so to think Ty would be gone for an extended period of time had my nerves shot. Luna reassured me Artemis wouldn't keep a young Bonded pair from each other for much longer than a week as it would be hell on our connection. Artemis and Luna handled it better, but they'd also been Bonded for over twenty years.
Luna and I still spent quite a bit of time together, studying the shifting skies, and had even found a handful of new stars appeared almost nightly. Luna equated it to the resurgence of good essence, but scientifically, that wasn't how stars worked. Despite my many attempts of explaining this to her, she told me I needed to keep my head on Siofra, where things were not always as they seemed. Her cryptic-ness seemed to be getting worse daily, and it was wearing on me.
We had also started messing around more with my newfound 'shield' as Luna called it. Luna had a bad habit of tossing deadly weapons at me without notice. There had only been one time I'd gotten hurt when instead of blocking a small hatchet from taking off my arm, I grabbed it, slicing my palm wide open. Ty, who had been helping Nero and Derrick repair a worn part of the palace walls near the training grounds, shot a burst of essence clean through a wall on the opposite side of the courtyard at the same time I howled out in pain. To make matters worse, the amount of anguish that flooded my mind brought me to my knees, and I had to scream at Ty through our connection to calm him down for fear of him giving me an aneurysm. By the time he had arrived in the workshop a few minutes later, Luna had already healed the wound without a visible scratch, but he was furious. After that, Luna began placing tourmaline stones around the workshop to keep our training sessions protected, so although Ty could still read my thoughts, if I got hurt, he wouldn't know it until I let him.
