Shortly after Sybil and Blaise took out their competition, Ty wandered over and gave me a quick kiss before he left to take a nap, asking me to wake him before dinner. A rest sounded terrific, but I had promised Luna I would review my notes from the day with her as well as my thoughts on the new Watchers. They were welcome to join us for dinner this evening and would be moving in before the coming weekend ended.
'No funny busy with knives, Katinar,' Ty warned as made his way into the palace, and although he had his back to me, he added, 'And quit rolling your eyes.'
'Yes, sir.' I saluted at his back instead, which earned me an odd glare from Doni as he passed by.
"Probably lucked out, the Difoda staff is just as loony as the Elder and his Mate," he explained in a snarky tone to Jay, who was walking beside him.
"Yeah, but they always seem to find the good looking wenches, ain't that right, baby?" Jay winked over in the direction I was standing just as he walked smack into Maverick's chest who had just returned.
"Not only is she Mated, but she also's out of your league and your pay grade. Best to move on and forget you were ever here," Maverick ground out with his arms folded across his chest. I knew there was a reason I liked Maverick.
"You're far too kind, Mav," I grinned as he watched Jay slink around him before the two defeated prospects ambled their way through the gates of Difoda.
A bright smile broke out across his face as he approached me, "Ah, you'll always have a soft spot in my heart, little fairy lady. Who'd we end up with, anyone good?"
Nodding my head, I handed him Blaise's note sheet, "The Quickbay twins mopped the floor with those two, it wasn't even a fair fight."
"Blaise did well today, although he expends too much energy out the gate. Knox will have to work with him on managing his hyperactivity, so he doesn't tire out too quickly. He did, however, accept criticism quite well and quickly learned from his mistakes. I'd say I agree with Blaise joining our crew."
As Maverick and I casually strolled towards Luna's workshop, I threw in my two-cents about Sybil from what I'd witnessed the day before. I was still sure she was the best fit for our family, but her brother's attitude had yet to be determined.
Standing in front of the glass and stone building, Maverick thanked me for the update before he headed off through the hedge maze towards the training grounds. He wanted to help Knox clean up and reorganize the training grounds. Although the Quickbay twins wouldn't officially start until next Monday, Knox and the current Watchers would spend the next few days creating a training regimen. It hadn't been too long ago when Ty was in training, and I remembered how grueling those days were for him so I could only imagine what was coming for the Wonder Twins.
Pushing into the workshop, I found Luna sitting at her table, sipping on a cup while wearing a soft smile. She looked content, and her long yellow gown made her look like a beautiful sunflower. Her smile widened as she watched me cross the room to sit across from her.
"My marara. I've missed you," Luna put her cup down and reached across the table, a twinkle in her eye made me smile back.
"I've missed you to Mali. It seems like I've been on the go since I returned from..."
"What did you just call me?" Luna cut me off, her grip on my hands tightening.
Frowning, I quickly ran the words through my brain and promptly caught what had grabbed her attention.
"Oh, Luna, I'm...I just. I think I've spent so much time with Ty and Maya, and he's constantly calling her Mali, and since you're my Siofra Mom, I just...well...I'm sorry?"
