"To Be Human" -MARINA

It was when Sean was just leaving a meeting, his chest had begun to feel sore and hollow. He was confused as he clutched onto his dress shirt, thick blond brows furrowed together as he stumbled slightly.

The other Alphas had left therefore it was only him and his guard in the wide hallway. With his other hand, the one that wasn't placed on his chest, he reached out to feel for the wall, leaning his body into it.

"Alpha...Are you alright?" Sean ignored the guard as he came closer, looking around for any others before opening a nearby door.

The guard pushed them both into the dimly lit room, Sean fumbled on his feet and into his jacket pocket, searching for his phone. The guard closed the door behind them, flipping the room's light switch on. They were inside someone's office.

It was small and cluttered but there was a large window to the left where papers and trash were flung around. Whoever's office this was, was disgusting. Sean cringed at the sight of the place just as he felt for his phone in the right pocket.

Just as he took it out, it had begun to ring. Marcus's name shined on the phone screen and without a thought, Sean answered it.

     "Alpha?"

The guard moved Sean over to a nearby chair, helping him flop down into it, "What the hell is this?"

"Alpha...it's Luna. I-I think she's in pain. I don't know how but-"

Without waiting for another second, Sean gruffly spoke, "Thank you, Beta," and ended the call, standing quickly. He gave the phone to the guard as he pushed his way out of the office but not before tripping over a box for only a minute, a low growl of annoyance left him as he swung the office door open.

"I want the number of that woman and mind link guard number nine now!" Sean commanded his guard as he followed quickly behind. Sean didn't see him as they made their way to the front door but the guard nodded frantically, mind linking his fellow guard of his whereabouts as he simultaneously dialed the number of Ida Fischer.

Many pack members and a few Alphas watched with curious eyes as the tall brooding man pushed his way through the large packhouse with the other equally large man following in step behind him.

The guard handed Sean the phone with it already dialing the woman's number, he held it to his ear and seethed as another ripple of hurt went through his chest.

"Alpha...We're by the entrance of the pier. You need to get here quick," The woman answered the phone almost immediately.

Sean looked over at his guard who was jumping in the driver's seat of the black SUV they had arrived in, "Can we confirm their location?"

"Agreed," The guard said as Sean swung into the passenger's seat, slamming the door closed, "Guard number ninje has confirmed, saying that while having lunch, Luna spotted a man across the street and called him 'Dad'. He's saying she's having a panic attack."

Sean didn't respond to his guard but turned his attention back to the phone gripped in his hand pressed to his ear, "If that man touches my mate, Ms. Fischer...It'll be your head."

With that, Sean wasted no time hanging up the phone, throwing it back in his jacket pocket as he commanded his guard to drive faster. His chest continued to ache as he felt Bonnie's distress. Whoever this man was...he wasn't supposed to be here.

     "Dad?"

Bonnie couldn't believe her eyes. For a split second, she remembered how she felt when she first saw Sean, how she thought he was a figment of her imagination as he stood in his kitchen, staring at her longingly.
