"Washington Is Next!" -Megadeath
Ida Fischer was German. Her father had migrated to the states when he was given a job by their Alpha in Washington to work as a captain for their fishing trade. Ida grew up surrounded by water and she hated it.
She came from a long line of men who worked for the sea and she was the first girl in the Fischer bloodline. She was a bad omen within her family.
When she and her father moved from Germany when she was only ten, she never understood why the rest of her family didn't come along or at least visit. It was in her early twenties when one night after her father came home from the pub, did he break the news to his daughter.
He yelled and screamed down at her like she was gum stuck to his shoe that he just couldn't get off. She found that the reason for their sudden move away from their home country...was because of Ida.
Ida's father never met his mate but that didn't stop him from finding love. Ida still didn't know the name of her birth mother, what she looked like, or what she was like but she liked to think she looked a little like her.
Her father's eyes were much paler while hers were the darkest shade of brown that they were almost black, she liked to think that she inherited her mother's eyes.
Her father loved her mother from what she was told while he was on a drunken rampage but the minute he found out he was having a daughter rather than a son, he left his love.
It was months later when Ida's mother had given birth but died shortly after, loss of too much blood. The hospital had tracked down the name of the father on the birth certificate and from that day on...she had become a curse to the Fischer line.
What Ida had found out in her early twenties was that she was a punishment due to her father not waiting for his mate. But no one in their family blamed him, they only blamed her.
As she began to grow up in Germany, year after year things began to happen that made the family fall dirt poor and spiteful. They used to be a pillar in their community, they weren't rich but they were happy. But, that was before Ida was born.
Ida grew up being blamed for everything, her uncle's sudden alcoholism, her grandfather falling off of his boat and dying on impact, her other uncle's imprisonment for selling black market goods...All of it was because she was a curse to the family line.
It was then that the rest of her family had banished her and her father. He had to keep Ida close no matter how much he hated her. He had to watch her every move to make sure she wouldn't inflict any more of her curse on his family.
Ida continued to grow up in the Washington state pack. She lived alone with her father. She was now twenty-eight and mateless but worked for her Alpha as the head event coordinator of the pack meaning all the festivals, all the balls, all the gatherings...she put together.
Her father continued to be a captain of one of the ships in the harbor that fished for the seafood that fed the pack.
Ida hated her life but she made the best of it by working her ass off and ignoring her father. He was older now, slower, and he hated to admit it but he needed help sometimes and as much as Ida hated the man, she helped him anyway. Ida turned out to be a tall, hardworking, and cold woman but that didn't mean she was heartless.
The she-wolf was knocked out of her trance when the SUV came to a stop rather abruptly. She rolled her dark eyes when the guard in the driver's seat began to laugh with a fellow guard.
