"Lover's Rock" -TV Girl
Sean had watched Bonnie as she slept for fifteen hours. Granted, he had gotten up from time to time but, he never spent more than two hours away from her sleeping body. He had told Nora and Marcus of when Johnathon was to come.
And Nora did not like that.
The witch had spent the hours that Bonnie used to sleep, to meditate, Searching her memory for any piece of information of what the witch council could possibly want from Bonnie's mother, that Bonnie apparently had to have now.
But, she found nothing.
Because of this, Sean was becoming filled with rage once again. He loathed the woman that birthed his Bonnie and the man that faked his death, leaving her with nothing but a broken heart. Sean especially hated his mate's older brother that wanted to see Bonnie under a blade more than anything in the world.
Ida had been stopping by every few hours, bringing food and some extra clothes for the higher ranked wolves staying at the cabin. Two of the highest warriors, coincidentally unmated, were requested to stay in the guest rooms in order to keep a twenty-four-hour watch over Bonnie.
Ida and Marcus would send each other tight-lipped smiles before Ida would turn away quickly and have any excuse to not be in the same room as him. And Nora had caught on to it. They all sat in the living room, eating lunch while a show played on the flat screen above the fireplace but, no one was watching it.
"What's goin' on with ya and Ida?" Nora asked with her mouth half full of her lunch.
Savannah giggled at her mate but then turned her attention to her brother, wanting to know his answer as well.
He shook his head, using a fork to push around the food on his plate, "Nothing's happened. Why do you think that?"
Savannah and Nora both shrugged, Savannah answered first, "Maybe it's the fact that you guys can't look each other in the eyes or maybe because she can't be in the same room as you."
Nora swallowed her food, "Did ya hurt the girl 'cause if ya did, I'm 'bout to beat the ever-lovin' shit out of ya, boy."
Marcus's eyes widened in slight fear, not expecting Nora to say what she did, "No...No. I just, I think I just made it awkward after I kissed her at the initiation ceremony the other night. I was drunk and...and sad and she was there. She was being nice and I don't know..."
Savannah scooted closer to her brother, placing a hand on his back while he placed his half-eaten lunch on the coffee table, "This isn't about your mate is it?"
"You have a mate?" Nora asked quietly.
Savannah looked over at her with a 'shut up' look. Nora, not knowing it was a sensitive topic, put a hand up in surrender before sending a quick apology to Marcus. Savannah asked to have the room alone with her brother and Nora instantly stood and before walking to the kitchen, she kissed her mate on the forehead.
After some silence passed between the siblings, Savannah nudged his arm, "Tell me."
He let out a long sigh before gaining the courage to speak, "I know my mate is no longer here. I felt her pass away not long after I turned of age. I didn't realize what had happened until year after year and I still hadn't met her. I felt ashamed of myself when I talked to one of the elders about it and they had confirmed," Marcus explained solemnly.
"Oh, Marcus..."
"I didn't even know her name, Savy," he choked out.
The siblings limply hugged each other, not ones for comfort but it was one of those times where either one needed it. After a short moment of silence, they separated when the sound of feet upstairs was heard. Marcus had told Savannah that the Luna was finally awake and both her and the Alpha were coming down.
