"Simply the Best" -Noah Reid

     "Wake up, Bonnie. Wake up."

Dark green eyes fluttered open, finding the curtain's halfway drawn back in the bedroom she and Sean shared, letting in the early morning's light. When she felt a warm hand on her shoulder, through the shirt Sean gifted her as her designated sleepwear, Bonnie hummed, closing her eyes again.

Sean's deep and breathy chuckle was heard behind her, feeling the mattress dip when he sat behind her legs. Gurgling was heard, making Bonnie groan into the pillow which increased her mate's laughter behind her.

"Come on, Monkey. She's hungry..." Sean whined down at her.

She mumbled into the pillow with sass, "Why can't you feed her?"

She could feel him raising a brow from her tone, "Last time I checked, I don't have boobs," Sean sassed back.

Bonnie had barely turned around, not even opening her eyes, when she slapped a hand onto his chest, feeling around for his peck before squeezing it with a, "Honk, honk."

Sean laughed loudly, so much so, that if he already wasn't holding their six-month-old daughter in his arms, he would have clutched his stomach. His little mate made him laugh. He smiled sweetly down at her, watching as she sighed out dramatically and woke up enough to bring the baby into her arms.

The Alpha wolf helped her lift her shirt and situate the babe when she laid them both on their sides. Their greedy daughter instantly latched onto her nipple, she already had a tooth coming in and it was coming in sharp, so she winced when she bit down around her.

     "I'm sorry, Monkey..."

Bonnie got over the slight pain instantly to make a joke, "She's not as gentle as you."

She had peeked her eyes open just in time to watch the beefy man blush red and turn in embarrassment. He stood from the bed when she began to giggle from his reaction. Sean cleared his throat, running a hand through his blond curls before crossing his arms over his chest.

He watched his daughter have her breakfast and his mate begin to fall back asleep. That is, until she noticed him hovering. Furrowed brows became evident on her face when she looked back up at him.

     "What's the matter?" She whispered.

He shook his head with a sigh, "I have to go into town today for a meeting with the humans. The town is expanding a bit and the mayor wants us to be head of construction."

Bonnie was still confused, "That's good isn't it?"

He nodded once, "Yeah, it's just this project is going to be a lot of work meaning a lot of time spent away from home. I won't be working on pack grounds so I won't be as close-"

The look he received shut him up, tight lips and a raised brow, "Now you're just making excuses to stay home, Sean."

"So, what if I am? Is it a crime to want to stay home with my beautiful wife, son, and daughter?"

At the sound of his dramatics, Bonnie couldn't help rolling her eyes, "No, but this is good business. You've already spent so much time on maternity leave and you weren't even the one pregnant," she giggled.

He sat back down on the edge of the bed then, a hand on her hip that the comforter was covering. Giving her a pouty look while gazing up at her with puppy eyes, he mumbled, "I had sympathetic pregnancy and you know it. Don't make fun of my illness."
