(Mackenzie's POV)

Me and Darry are trying to get pregnant. It's not working though. We try all the time but it isn't happening. Today we decided to look into adoption.

We were meeting with a woman who works at an agency. "You would like to adopt?" She asked and we both smiled and nodded.

"Yes please, we have been trying but we can't get pregnant." Darry said. She nodded.
"Well, your application is great, the waiting list is about 5 months right now but it may fasten. Not many people in Tulsa are looking to adopt." We both nodded.

"Well you guys, we need to get to know each other and I will need to visit the house. So we need to ask some questions." We both nodded.
"What is the home life like? I know Darrel takes care of his two younger brothers." We looked at each other and Darry started.
"Well, the older of the two will be eighteen in a month and will be moving in with his best friend Steve. And the younger one will be staying with us until he is old enough to go to collage."

She smiled and nodded. "Would there be a separate room for the baby?" This time I answered.
"Yes, there is a mater bedroom for us, one for Ponyboy and one for the baby."
"That's great! What are the people like who will be around the child?" She asked.
"Well there are 6 boys who will be around including Darry's brothers, my mother and best friend Zoey." I answered. She smiled and nodded.

"Darry how is the business and income in the house?" He smiled.
"Well, the business is of to a really great start and we both have jobs, I own the company and she is a real estate agent. The income is very well." She smiled and nodded.
"Okay, do you think we could make a time when I could see the house?" We nodded and Darry set a date that worked for both of us.

We headed out of the agency. We were happy, even if the baby was adopted we would still love it the same. I wanted a boy for our first kid. I wonder what Darry wants. I decided to ask.

"Hey Dar, would you want a boy or girl?" He smiled at me.
"Well, I've always wanted to have a girl because I would love a little girl. But I'd also want a boy because then I would be able to play catch with him. For me it doesn't matter as long as it's our kid." I just stared at him for a little. "What would you want?"
"Well, I'd want a boy just so if we ever do get a little girl she could have an older brother, but I'd like a girl because I'd be able to do all the girly things with her." He smiled.

"Anything that's ours we'll love for sure." I smiled back at him and he agreed.
"I love you Mackenzie."
"I love you Darrel." Then he gave me a little peck kiss.

He drove the truck back home and then left for work. "Bye my little sunshine I'll be home around 7, I'm working late." I nodded and gave him a hug.
"Bye sunshine, I'll save you some dinner so the boys don't eat it all." I said.
He just chuckled and kissed my head.
