⭐️Sick Day⭐️

(Darrel's POV)

I came home really late. It was about 10. I walked through the door to see Mack holding Nolan, fast asleep on the couch.

She was adorable. I picked up Nol and kissed his head. I missed my boy. I walked him to his room and placed him in bed.

I walked back out to see my Mack still sleeping soundly. I went over and softly picked her up. I made sure not to wake her. She looked so peaceful. I carried her into our room and shut the door with my foot.

I placed her into our bed and put the covers over her. I kissed her head and went to the other side of the bed. I climbed in and she must've felt me because she moved herself into my arms.

She laid her head on my shoulder in the crook of my neck. She placed her hands on my chest and I had mine around her waist. Then I placed my head on hers and pulled the blanket on us.

"I love you sunshine." I said. She was already asleep in my arms and I slowly fell asleep.

-Morning-
(Mackenzie's POV)

I woke up next to Darry. He was still asleep so I kissed his head before getting up. Instantly I felt sick. I ran to the bathroom.

I threw up. Then I felt a hand on my back. I turned to see Sodapop. "You okay Mack?" He asked.
"Uhh not really." I said sitting with my back against the wall.
"I'll go get Darry, okay?" I nodded in response. He ran and I heard Darry coming to the bathroom.

"Hey baby." He kissed my head. "How ya feeling?" He stroked my hair.
"Not good." I responded, I could've lied but he knows me too well.
"Okay sweetie, I got you okay?" I nodded and he picked me up. He carried me back to our room. He laid me in bed. "Stay." I woofed and he laughed.

Once he left the room I tried getting up. I wasn't a child. I walked out the doorway and was instantly picked back up. Darry just laughed. "Stay." He kissed my head again.

He left and came back with a thermometer. He took my temp and looked at it. 101.3 degrees. He looked at me, "yep. Sunshine's got a fever."

I groaned and he chuckled. "Well sunshine, I guess I get to baby you today!" He said.
"No I have a baby to take care of, you have work!" I said. "I have work later too!" I said and he laughed.
"What?" I asked.
"I already called you out. And I'll take Nolan to work with me. I have a few hours so I'll take care of you okay?" I pouted playfully but nodded.
"One condition." I said.
"Yes, anything baby." He said with a smile. He's such a sweet boy.
"I need cuddles." I said with a serious face which earned a laugh from him.

"Alright sweets, first let me get you some medication." He left and came back with some cherry flavored syrup. I took it and the water he brought. He kissed my head and climbed into bed with me.

"MAMA! DADA!" Nolan started yelling for us. I went to stand up but Darry lightly pushed me back down.
"I've got him." He said. He kissed my head and left. I waited for him, I heard him coming back down the hall with Nolan. But it was so late, I felt my eyes get heavy and I fell asleep.
