This is Book Two to the You Are My Sunshine series! This is a Darrel Curtis fan fiction. Newly engaged couple, Mack and Darrel, run into some problems. Can they survive it? Or will they end it?
Today we were taking Nolan home. The gang would be able to meet him today. They were all really excited except for Dal and Steve. They don't really care for kids.
Soda and Pony were over the moon. We had Nolan's little bedroom set up. We made it a little dinosaur room.
It was 9:30am so we would be leaving in a few minutes. We put in the car seat and got in the front. Darry turned my head and kissed me softly. We pulled apart but he quickly went into another kiss. We pulled apart and he smiled.
"Okay let's not be late picking up our kid for the first time please." I said and he laughed.
We drove and held hands the whole time. We got to the agency and Darry was jumping up and down like a kid himself. I loved when he was like this, I was jumping too.
Then we went inside and to Ms. Smyth's office. She told us to wait while she got Nolan. Nolan came running up and jumped into Darry's arms before running into mine. Then Darry pulled me in and we were in a group hug.
I saw Ms. Smyth smiling. She was only about 30. She was happy you could tell. Nolan wouldn't let go of Darry's leg and it was adorable. Eventually Darry just picked him up and he laughed. Darry held him while I grabbed the bag.
Nolan stretched his arms to me and I stole him from Darry. Darry smiled and took the bag leaving a kiss on each of our heads.
We said our 'thank you's' and left to the car. We put him the car seat and Darry drove. We both had dopey faces on and we knew it.
We got home and we each took one of his hands. We led Nolan up to the house and walked in. Everyone turned and Soda ran right up to him.
"Everyone this is Nolan." Darry said and the gang cheered which made Nolan laugh.
Soda gave him a fist bump and said, "hi Nolan I'm Sodapop!" Nolan laughed and said, "I like stegosaurus!" He was only 3 we didn't expect much more.
Everyone laughed and we introduced Nolan to everyone. Dally wasn't too found but we knew he wouldn't be. Two was actually really excited. You wouldn't expect it but he was.
We brought Nolan to his room and he ran around it looking at the Dino's. He giggled and we unpacked the little stuff he had. Tomorrow we were going shopping.
Nolan went back to the living room and Two let him watch Mickey. Nolan sat on Two's lap and was just as mesmerized as Two.
Me and Darry laughed shaking our heads and started dinner. We only thought it was fitting to have a kid dinner, so we had Dino nuggets and Mac and cheese.
Soda, Two, and Nolan we're playing with the Dino's. We had to tell them to eat but they still had fun with it.
Once dinner was done Pony read Nolan and, no shock, Two and Soda a story. We cleaned up and Darry picked up Nolan. "It's bed time little buddies." He said and Nolan was basically falling asleep on Dar's shoulder. I loved watching him play with kids.
We brought Nolan to his room and Darry changed him into PJ's as I got his bed ready. We tucked him in and gave him a kiss goodnight each.
He was asleep before we even turned out the light. We shut the door and went to our room for the night.
