Chapter 5: Freedom

Menekse

The day was too beautiful to stay in. The afternoon was already falling, and it was gradually getting dark.

Sancar had gone to talk to his sister and left her alone.

His attempts to get close fed her, but a part of her still loved him. And seeing that he tried gave her hope, but she still couldn't forgive him.

Menekse decided to go outside, for a while at least.

Melek was not in the house, so she took a long breath, as if for the first time she could breathe.The mere sound of the girl's voice irritated her. It wasn't really Melek that bothered her, but what she carried. Her presence reminded her of Nare over and over.It was living proof that Sancar would never be entirely her.
Never.
And that irritated her.

Menekse walked the stables area, observing everything.She had rarely been there, if ever. Sancar and Kavruk had always been there, but she had never been allowed to enter there.She liked to believe that her pregnancy gave her some impunity. She smiled to herself while she thought about it.

She found a horse, a big, sturdy sorrel, with its head sticking out of the small stable door. Menekse reached out her hand, and laid her fingers on his nose.The animal did not resist, it was docile, and Menekse liked it.

Suddenly the animal backed away,
- Hey, come back here, I won't hurt you ..-the animal brayed, as an unpleasantly familiar voice made an appearance.

-My flower, God brought you here without my asking.

Loki was behind her, his gaze icy, piercing and terrifying. -Loki, what are you doing here? -She looked in all directions,but there was no one else, they were alone. -If you do something to me, I swear I'll scream and everyone will come.

-Who will come? Your mother-in-law, the one who put you outside a week ago?Your sister-in-law, the one who is in her room right now? I could do as I please here with you and no one would know.He came closer and Menekse took a step back.-Understand that the only one who loves you here is me.

She took a stone and held it in her hand, tucking it into one of the folds of her clothing.

-Maybe they won't come for me, but they will come for the baby.-Menekse watched as Loki's eyes transformed into full containers and anger. He hit the wall and began to snort loudly.

-Don't repeat it again, did you hear me? I'm going to kill Sancar, and then you're going to go with me. I swear, I'll get you out of here.

She felt terror, fear, and her hands began to tremble. -I beg you, leave me here and I will not say anything to anyone. Sancar will not know that you entered here.

Loki laughed. -I think you're going to have to get used to what is always here, do you hear me?

Menekse took a step back, amazed.

Gulsiye arrived in the shadows. - Please get him out of here.

-Get him out of here? -Gulsiye moved his hands in victory -He is your friend, why should I interrupt this wonderful meeting?

Menekse looked at her desperately. Gulsiye knew it somehow. -What? You knew it? Gulsiye, take it out or everyone here will find out ...

Shouts began to be heard coming from the mansion. Menekse was thrown towards there, but Loki took her arm with force. She released and left them behind.

In the mansion everything was a scandal. Zehra was totally out of whack. Sancar tried to contain her and she turned away from him, over and over.

In a second everyone was down: Halise, Kavruk, Yahya. Zehra screamed for Sancar to leave her alone, no one understood anything there, of course.
