The familiar first beats of a song Yoongi had been working on blasts through their living room. It's quite peppy, which isn't his usual style, and that disconcerts him, so those two features make it the perfect choice for his alarm sound.
He whines exhaustedly. He had set his alarm for 6:00 AM since he moves pretty sluggishly in the morning, and he fell asleep at around 5:00 PM (since it's Sunday and he had already finished all his assignments and projects), so why does it feel like it's only been an abnormally short amount of time since he first closed his eyes and entered dreamland? Squinting at the sudden attack of blue light, he focuses on the digits on the screen in a few moments. The time reads 6:00 PM.
"For goodness' sake," he slurs. He must've forgotten to switch the setting to AM.
So, Min Yoongi, being the quite lazy and tired human being that he is, decides to just ignore the annoying alarm and go back to sleep. As expected, in a very short while, he does doze off again. But Seokjin, who is sitting on a nearby cushy bean bag reading peacefully, has other thoughts when the alarm doesn't stop after almost five minutes.
Exasperated, he sighs and stands up, before making his way over to the edge of the coffee table then bending down and turning off the alarm on Yoongi's phone.
However, the gadget doesn't have a password (which is honestly a pretty stupid move on the mint-haired boy's part), so when Seokjin accidentally swipes up, the phone unlocks and immediately displays the homescreen.
And oh, is it ever so eye-catching.
The ravenette takes in the photo. His disgusted and funny face, the flour mixture on the countertop. He recalls it being from that time when he tried to bake cookies at three in the morning two weeks ago, but he ended up making a huge mess.
Pure embarassment settles in, turning his face and ears red, and the sound that leaves Seokjin's full, plump lips is a cross between a yelp and a gasp. He stares intensely at the picture, as if that would change the fact that Yoongi had picked this, out of all the other options out there, to be his homescreen wallpaper.
Was this his doing? After all, he was the one who had told Yoongi that it'd be fine if he didn't delete it as long as he promised not to leak it anywhere, and he had promised. Is this technically considered as leaking? Not really, since Seokjin is pretty sure that his roommate-slash-friend is the only one who can see it. Well, besides him, now. Is it still wrong, though? Sadly, he can't see anything truly wrong with this.
The second part of his internal debate plays in his head. Should he wake Yoongi up right now and ask him about it? But then he immediately shakes his head. That would be the ultimate death wish. Should he just ask him when he wakes up on his own? No, that'll make it sound like he snooped around on his phone while he was asleep, and that's creepy and off-putting. Should he wait for the right moment while Yoongi is fully awake to confront him about it? Yes, that sounds like the best thing to do.
Nodding to himself, Seokjin goes to the bean bag again and sits down once more, turning his attention to his book and picking up where he left off. But he finds he's unable to focus; the words are just bouncing around and around in his head. He simply can't get that cursed image out of his thoughts. It's as if it's been burned into his head like a tattoo.
Groaning, he buries his face into his palms. That damned photo is going to haunt him until Yoongi tells him exactly why he had chosen that as his homescreen.
