Imaginary

You aren't just my imaginary friend

You're so much more to me

You've never let me down

Never let me hit the ground

Just when things go wrong

When nothing seems to make sense

You come around

And somehow my problems fix themselves

You're the only one who'll ever see this side of me

You're not just my imaginary friend

You might live in another universe

You might be a fictional character

But you're still someone I'd talk to when I'm down

I don't know how I got so close to you

I know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you

Some call me crazy

Or say I need some help

But you're just my way of coping with my life

I see you all the time

Even in my dreams

My dreams are the only place I can ever cry on your shoulder

Just when I think it's all wrong

It's all for nothing

You come around and prove me wrong

Everytime I watch your movie

Everytime I read your book

Everytime I heard you sing

I know you're there

You don't need to be real

Real isn't what I want

If I wanted real

I wouldn't be here

You're not just my imaginary friend

I know I sound like a child

Some lonely 5yearold girl

But it's not about my age

It's my way of getting through my day

So everytime I see something that reminds me of you

Or think I hear your voice

I don't know if I should thank you or if you already know

I wish you were real

But I think I prefer seeing you in my dreams

Letting someplace be special

Not having to worry if you'll ever leave

You're not just my imaginary friend

You're not just imaginary

You're real to me
