Ch.8 Questions and Answers

(A\N: I changed the Royal Siblings of Scarlett, so please go back to chapter four and look at them before continuing if you haven't already seen the changes because they are mentioned in this chapter, but only vaguely! Thank you! >.< :P and please forgive any errors throughout the story -- autocorrect sucks...)

That night, after school, I sat on my bed, my arms around my legs as my chin rested on my knees. What was I supposed to do? I never meant to come to this world, and now that I'm here, it's all become a reality. The images of Lelouch and I in the council room popped into my head. I quickly shoved them away, sighing. It was almost midnight and I couldn't sleep, again... What do I do?

"Can't sleep?" A voice purred.

I gasped and lifted my head, looking over to see someone in the shadows of my room. "Who's there?" I asked.

The person came out into the moonlight that shone in my room from the window to reveal C.C. Of course, I knew she wasn't dead, considering I've seen the show before...

I placed my head back on my knees, looking away from her. "No, not really..."

She came over to my bed, seating herself on it. "What troubles you, Scarlett?"

"This..."

"This what?"

"This whole thing. I don't belong here, in your world."

"Scarlett, let me explain something to you. Do you remember when I asked you whether you wanted to live in the real world or this world?"

"Yes."

"You chose this world, and I granted your wish. Ever since you chose this world, you have altered time, but only slightly. You're being here won't change much in the story, expect additional characters you created."

"But how did I get here is my question..." I said.

"Remember when you were in your room? In that very moment, you made a wish to have this world become a reality. Your real life no longer exists, you now live in this world."

I lifted my head. "What are you saying?"

"Now that you have chosen this world and have done the things you have, I can't return you to your normal life. Last night, you admitted you loved Lelouch, but at the same time, after you kissed him, you made this world a reality."

"What? I can't go back home now?"

"You never wanted to, did you?"

I lowered my head again. "You despised your stepmother, resented your father, and seeked revenge for your deceased mother. You were in pain, Scarlett, and you wanted it to disappear. With that wish you made, you made this world a reality. But with that contract you made with me, there was something I forgot to mention."

"What was it?" My eyes trailed up to her as was was gazing about my room aimlessly.

"After you made the contract with me, it was final, but you also had a time limit to your being here. You had to kiss the one you truly loved within one week in order for this to be permanent. That morning, when you and Lelouch were together, that was your final day, and in that very moment, you both shared that one kiss of true love and therefore, sealed my contract."

My head raised again as I was in disbelief. "You're kidding me?"

She shook her head. "I'm afraid not."

"So...now what?"

She looked at me with a smile. "You enjoy this world, yes?"

"Umm, yes. I mean, I've always wanted to come here and meet the characters..."

"And now that it is a reality, do you want to continue to follow the story or change it?"

"I don't know... Maybe I can prevent Lelouch from dying in the end..."

"Scarlett, before you came here, the story played over and over again. It was never ending, but now... I'm glad you came."

"Me?" I asked, lowering my legs from my chest.

She nodded. "Now you have the power to rewrite this story and make it your own. Think about it, Scarlett, or would you prefer Kari?"

I sighed. "I just don't know what to think..."

"Kari, you have the opportunity any other human would kill to get the chance for. What you do now is entirely up to you. Yes, you will follow the order of events in the story, but at the same time, you can change it! The Geass I gave you is an opportunity to start something new. You can do as you please as many times as you wish... If you wish to restart, all you need to do is say the word and I will grant it." She stood up, spinning around before facing me. "But Kari, how do you plan to do all this?"

"I'm not sure... As it is, I have to figure out the rest..."

"You're brothers and sister... They are stationed with Lelouch's other siblings. But what about the old friend you created, Yuki Tadashite?"

I thought for a moment before snapping my fingers. "Suzaku will be accused of murdering Prince Clovis soon, and Yuki will be accused of murdering Princess Minako."

C.C. smiled at me. "You have such a brilliant mind for imaginations and strategy. I admire that about you, Kari. What about the rest of the story?"

"I guess I'll just have to let it play out as I go..." I crawled off my bed, getting to my feet. Looking at the clock again, it was after twelve.

"You are very smart, Kari, and you have an enormous imagination that not even I can comprehend fully. Not only do you have the god-like power I gave you, you also have this world's story in the palm of your hand. As you go through this journey, if you happen to perish, the whole story shall start over from the moment you woke up when you first came to this world. Now, the rest is up to you, and I shall support you with whatever may happen. I wish you the best of luck, Scarlett..." She smiled, turning to leave.

"C.C., wait."

"Yes?" She turned back to me.

I smiled softly at the green haired girl. "Thank you, for what you've given me... I don't know how I can thank you enough."

"No need. Good luck." She said before leaving my room.

I sighed, my smile fading from my lips as I looked out the window of my room. What was I supposed to do? I can alter the story... So...I suppose I can use this to my advantage, but I just can't overdo it. As it is, both Suzaku and Yuki will have the new model Knightmare Frames. Yuki didn't make it to the first battle, and I ended up fighting against Suzaku, but from what I can tell, I'm also going to be fighting against my best friend as well, just as Lelouch has done, but in the end, he lost... But now that I am here, I will make sure he doesn't make the wrong choice, and as long as I am still alive, I can change his fate, but even if I shall perish, it will all restart again so I can learn from where I faltered. Either way, this journey won't be easy, that I know of, but I'm prepared for it because I'm not afraid to die because I know that I won't allow that to happen. I may lose my memory in the process, but I will do all I can to make sure Lelouch does not perish. And when that times comes, I will gladly take the sword to the chest for Lelouch, even if it means I will have to restart all over again. I won't let Lelouch perish, not this time. I will stop him before he can lose control and rule in the end. I won't lose and I won't give up, because this is now my life that has now become a reality.
