Ch.22 Suzaku's Truth

Kari's POV

"Lelouch! Kari!" I turned to see Suzaku coming towards us as I smiled.

"Good morning, Suzaku."

"Are you both actually going to go to class today?" Suzaku smirked.

"Of course!" I said with a fake frown.

"Anyways, I should say the same for you. Are you free tonight by any chance?" Lelouch asked.

"Tonight?" Suzaku thought for a moment. "Yeah, I am."

"How about dinner tonight? Nunnally misses you."

"Okay, that be great!"

"Have fun you two!" I said with a smile.

"What, do you really think I'm gonna leave you out of this too?" Lelouch smirked.

"Me?" I asked.

"Nunnally asked to see you too, Kari. So would you join us too?"

"Sure." I said.

"Come on, let's go tell Nunnally. We'll be in class after we tell her." Lelouch said as he pulled me along.

When we made it Lelouch's manor, he searched for Nunnally as I did the same. But as I entered the room she's usually in, I didn't see her. All I saw were paper cranes surrounding something on the table. Slowly, I approached it only to gasp. There on the table in that arch of paper cranes was a photograph of Nunnally as she was tied up. I quickly grabbed the photo and ran out of the room to go find Lelouch. He saw me running towards him as she smiled softly. "Did you find her?" But his expression changed at the sight of mine. "Kari, what's wrong?"

"It's Nunnally..." I showed Lelouch the photo as he gasped, taking it from me. "She's in trouble and we have to find her."

Suddenly, Lelouch got a call as he answered it. "Hello, Lulu."

Oh-no, Mao!?

"Mao!"

"Lelouch, is that you?" Lelouch and I gasped at the voice as he put it on speaker.

"Nunnally!" I gasped.

"Kari? You're there with Lelouch too?"

"Yes. Where are you?"

"I'm not sure. But I can't move and I hear running water around me." She said. So do I. It's faint, but I can hear it...

"Hang on, Nunnally, we're going to get you, I promise!"

"You have five hours, Lulu." Mao said as he took the phone back.

"Mao...! You're here, that's why you can read my thoughts!" Lelouch growled.

"Correct! Let's see if you can find your dear little sister!" He said before hanging up.

"If he's with 500 meters, he's somewhere close by. Now we just have to find out where." I said.

"We'll have to split up." Lelouch said. I nodded as we took off inside the school.

I searched everywhere, the bathrooms, the gym, classrooms, which was pointless, but I came up with nothing. Running around, I entered the council room to see Rivalz, Nina, Kallen, and Suzaku along with the cat, Arthur. "Kari, I thought you were coming to class." He said, but his smile disappeared as I was looking around, not even paying attention to him.

"Yeah... I'll give you the details on dinner later." I said before running off, not even realizing Suzaku followed me until I ran into Lelouch.

"Lelouch, Kari."
