"come to think of it, we haven't really been at that park around this time of the night." mina mentioned, breaking the ice between us as i walked.
"you're right, we used to just jog around there every morning." i couldn't help but reminisce. we broke up just recently and now it felt like it's been years since we were together like this.
"i'm sorry, jeongyeon. i really am." i heard her sniff as she apologizes again.
"shush now, mina. you know how i don't like seeing you crying." i forced a smile as i try to stop myself from crying too. "i'm done getting mad, and you don't have to apologize anymore."
a moment of silence filled the atmosphere between us. we arrived at the top of the hill, i stopped walking and put her down and we just glued our eyes on the vast city lights in front of us.
"we have been together for three years now." i heard mina speak after a long moment of silence. and i realized she was talking about the other person.
i didn't want to hear it. i never even tried to ask. but i think i'll listen to what she wants to say, and maybe keep this moment as a constant reminder of the reason why we weren't really meant to be together.
"we had an intense fight before i went to seoul, i had almost gave up on him." she continued. "and then i met you here."//
