Chapter 5: Let's meet again

Lisa was now running towards the helicopter. I also recognized her friend, Ms. Kang, who accompanied her the first time we'd met. She's waiting for Lisa as she opens the door for her after giving her salute.

Lisa was ready to step inside, but before she gets in, she looks in my direction. I don't know if she's hesitating or just saying a silent goodbye and reassuring me that she'll come back for our date.

I hesitated to answer the promise she asked me a while ago. It's not because I don't want to, but maybe it's because I'm so confused at the moment. This whole situation makes me feel nostalgic for a reason. I'm also aware that we've only known each other for two days, but she assured me that she'll explain everything once she comes back. I hope she does.

As the helicopter takes off, it starts to disappear behind the tall buildings until it's nowhere to be seen. I'm still standing here on the rooftop of the hospital. I'm wondering if I've made the right decision, but whatever it takes, I hope everything will be just fine wherever this takes us.

Another minute had passed. I started making my way towards the elevator. I reached for my phone inside my coat as I called Jisoo. I needed to ask her if the offer she had made was still open.

"Jendeuk," she answers giving me that nickname again.

"Hey, is your offer still available?" I asks her.

"Sure Jen, Chaeng was just finishing up, then we're good to go," Jisoo replied then she continues "So I guess things didn't go to plan."

"You can say that, I'll explain it over dinner," I said before ending the call.

I exit the elevator and proceed toward the hospital's sliding glass door, where I wait for the couple to arrive. I can't help myself to think about a certain black-haired woman and the moments we've shared for a short time. 

I sigh..

What did I put myself into? who really is Lisa and what kind of job she has? When I saw Jisoo and Chaeng walking towards me and heard their loud voices from a distance, I snapped out of my trance and I know my best friend did something again. Psh she said that teasing her fiancé is just normal.

"Babe, I told you she wouldn't mind waiting," Jisoo said once they were standing in front of me, while Chaeng was now standing beside Jisoo, glaring slightly at her.

"I don't care if she doesn't mind, I told you to accompany her while I'm finishing up," Chaeng replied as she turned her attention towards me.

"Sorry to keep you waiting here, Jennie unnie. I told Jisoo to come down first, but she won't listen to me," she said, and then she looks at her fiancé, who's looking everywhere but at her.

"No, it's okay, Chaeng, I didn't wait that long," I said reassuringly.

"See, babe? I told you she wouldn't mind," Jisoo said, but she shut her mouth when she saw her fiancé glaring at her again, so she raised her arms, surrendering.

"Come on, we should start heading out, I already have our reservation in a Chinese restaurant just across the street," Chaeng said as we started walking outside and the evening breeze greeted us.
