J E N N I E

II've been here at my office since morning, finishing up the report that's due tomorrow. As I'm heading towards the coffee table, my phone rings, and without looking at the caller's ID, I answer it.

"Hello?" I said through the phone while I continued walking to the coffee table to get some papers.

"Wassup, Jendeuk, do you want to grab some lunch together?" she asks me. I was now sitting on the couch, holding the papers with both hands, while my phone was between my ear and shoulder.

"Sorry, Chu, but I still need to finish my report due tomorrow," I said to her apologetically.

"Oh, okay, I'll just ask Chaeng instead, bye mandu ppong," she said before she hung up. Ugh, she's always giving me weird nicknames.

I continue on completing my report. I check the time on my wrist and see that lunch is already over. Before I realized how late it was, I started to feel queasy in my stomach. Oh my goodness, I'm starving. I already skipped breakfast, and I think I will faint at any moment if I continue to skip lunch.

Before I could walk towards the door, I received a message from my best friend.

Jichu (1:23 pm)

Yah Jendeukie don't wear your scrubs and coat if you're eating your lunch outside, just a friendly reminder. Oh and also I wish you all the best. Good luck Ppong!

Reading Jisoo's text, I knitted my eyebrows. Ugh, what's she up to? I have no choice but to take Chu's advice. I'm wearing a white shirt and denim pants, but because I'm always wearing scrubs, I've forgotten to bring some extra shoes, so I'll just wear my white Chanel slippers.

I then shrug. At least it's comfy.

I make my way towards the elevator, heading downstairs to grab some lunch. I'm going to eat at the restaurant near the hospital because I still have to finish my report.

As I walked out of the elevator and headed towards the exit, I passed the sliding door and out of the hospital. My eyes went wide and I gasped when I saw a familiar figure standing outside. She hasn't seen me yet, so I'm thinking of running back inside, but my feet won't even move.
