Chapter 31: Please

THIRD PERSON

The Chairman's eyes started to flutter open, adjusting to the light inside his room, as he expected, no one visited him like as expected. He still doesn't know that the secretary he always scolded was here for him from the start, but he doesn't know that because Yeonjun would always visit him here the time he's already asleep.

Once he adjusted his pupils to the blinding lights of the room, he remained there lying on the bed with his left hand still handcuffed, but then the slamming of the door open made the Chairman jolt a little, then two figures got inside then he heard a click on the lock.

He then recognized Yeonjun so his eyes widened. It is because this was not the Yeonjun he knew before. His former secretary had a new look, which can be described as a dark and strong aura. This is totally a new character for him.

"Mr. Yong, good to see you awake now. We're supposed to do something for you to wake up," Yeonjun's deep voice echoed through the Chairman's ears, but he just stared at Yeonjun with a pale face.

"Aish, he's no fun," then another voice said behind the young secretary, revealing Lisa, who had taken off her leather jacket and threw it on the small couch and flopped herself down to take a seat, facing the Chairman's bed.

And the room got silent, except for the Chairman's rapid heartbeat. He doesn't know what will happen next, but he knows something's up with them.

"Mr. Chairman, I'm not sure if you've already heard the news about what happened over the last few weeks, so let me summarize it for you," Yeonjun said, crossing his leg and sitting up straight.

"CEO Yeo was now behind bars while his secretary attempted to kill me to have revenge on the CEO, but unfortunately he died first, which is very unlucky of him. To make the story shorter, the Skylar company has come to an end, finally," Yeonjun paused as he chuckled, then continued.

"That illegal business is now closed because of bankruptcy, which also means that you, Mr. Yong, are part of that downfall."

Yeonjun slapped that on Mr. Yong's face just like what he did to him the day he met Lisa, but the young secretary knows it hurts more because the damage would always be there compared to the slap that the Chairman gave to him that day.

The Chairman just stared at nothing in particular, trying to process everything Yeonjun told him, and when it finally sink in, he couldn't help but cry. He didn't intend to be a part of or even work with the CEO because he knew how filthy his men are in business.

But Mr. Yong didn't have any choice. He was also a victim of being threatened to death, even though he didn't have any family or even friends to be left off. He loved his life and he didn't want to waste that just because of the mistake he had done.

"I'm really sorry, Yeon.... for everything," Mr. Yong said while crying. He was now shaking as the tears continued to escape from his eyes.

"It's too late," Yeonjun stated with a blank face while looking at the Chairman.

"I know what I did was wrong, but I didn't mean any of that, the CEO made me do it... please Yeon, believe me," the Chairman was now sitting on his bed trying to prove himself, but Yeonjun just continued to stare at him almost with no emotion.

"Then tell us everything you know, and if you did,  then we will consider your case, and instead of you being imprisoned for life, you can bail yourself out," Yeonjun said solemnly, narrowing his eyes at the man who had abused him when they first started working at the Skylar company.
