Inside the medicube, I was busy preparing reports on our completed tasks when my mind drifted to the upcoming conversation I had with Lisa. Anxiety gnawed at me—what if things didn't go as I hoped? Aish, I was being too hard on myself.

"Relax, Jen," I muttered under my breath.

Just as I was about to refocus on my work, a loud thud startled me, making me jump.

"Kkamjjag-ya! (You scared me!) Was that really necessary?!" I glared at Jisoo, who stood there with a mischievous smirk plastered across her face.

"Why so serious? Thinking too much? Or should I say... thinking about Lisa too much?" Jisoo burst into laughter, and I scoffed at her. I didn't have time for her teasing right now.

I stood up and walked over to the other table to grab my coat, ready to leave.

"Where are you going? I was just kidding!" Jisoo called out between giggles, but I merely rolled my eyes.

"I don't have time for that. I'm busy." I stepped outside, ignoring her protests.

As I emerged outside, a warm breeze greeted me, and I inhaled deeply, closing my eyes for a moment. This place was refreshing, a stark contrast to the bustling city life I was used to. It provided a sense of calm, allowing my thoughts to flow freely in this serene environment.

As I scanned my surroundings, I suddenly heard footsteps to my right.

I turned to see Lisa, and my heart nearly leaped out of my chest. What was it with people startling me today?

"Oh my gosh, stop doing that!" I exclaimed, equally startled.

"Do wha—what?" she stammered, holding her chest in surprise.

"Nothing, just try not to pop out of nowhere," I replied, catching my breath.

Once her nerves settled, she lowered her hand and smiled at me, showcasing her charming duality.

Her gaze lingered on my face, and I raised an eyebrow. "What?"

She beamed, "I'm here now. You said you wanted to talk when I finished, so here I am."

Caught off guard, I stammered, "Oh... I mean, here? You want to talk here?" I glanced around, unsure.

"Hmm... someone might interrupt us, so maybe we should find a quieter place," she suggested. I nodded, agreeing with her idea.
