chapter twenty-one

Jess' father laughed , "Now don't say that , your best friend likes me , is he going to be your boyfriend? Because then i'll have to give him a talk" Jess was angered with steven , he disgusted her. "I killed your brother , what makes you think i won't kill you" The girl growled out but Steven just laughed out at the girl. "Oh you won't because i'll kill him" The man leaned his foot onto the boys throat , putting pressure onto it , Manny letting out a gargled cry , causing the girl to jerk forward only to be held back by one of the gang members. "And him" Steven pointed behind the girl , Jess finally looking back to see the sidemen being held back , one of his gang members grabbing Tobi by his throat.

Another man came next to steven , Tobi squirming as they made eye contact. He remembered him vividly , this man was the one who acted upon killing Tobi's family , the man who had no name."Seems my team didn't succeed in killing everyone you loved , well i'll just have to do it now , all three are here" The man spoke , another light flashing on , showing another boy , Jess finding it scary at how similar he looked to Manny and Tobi. The boy thrashed around in the chair he was tied to , trying to get the gag out of his mouth.

"Yeh , who's the third?" Tobi growled , feeling tears fall down his face at the boy in the chair. It was him. Jed. Who he thought had died from being shot in his head but he didn't care about that anymore , he was alive.

"Her." The man pointed to the Jess , causing the girl to furrow her eyebrows , he loved her? He couldn't. He just couldn't. Jess was thrown next to Manny who had been heavily breathing after Stevens foot was lifted off his throat , the gun falling from her hands. The girl scrambled over to the boy , her shaky hands grabbing softly at the boys head , pulling it in her lap.

"Oh Manny" She lightly grasped his hand , Manny trying to squeeze back to let her know he was okay. "Now Tobi" Jess' eyes traveled back to Tobi , who was now held in front of the trio , the man stood just behind them , grasping both Jed's and Jess' shoulders , making sure the silence was defiant before speaking out again "Choose who's dying".

Manny glanced up at Jess finally feeling himself come back to reality , a nervous look etched onto his face. Tobi had shock written all over his face as he chocked out "What?!" He looked at the trio in front of him. They're making him choose? "You heard me , now choose before i kill all of them!" The man yelled out. Jess made eye contact with Tobi , giving a small broken smile before nodding , showing him that it was okay that he could chose her , he needed family more than her. She already knew anyway. He didn't love her. She knew he didn't love her. Tobi maintained the eye contact with the girl as he spoke "Me"

The man kissed his teeth coming forward from behind the trio , Steven following after him. "No." He muttered , grabbing the boy from the gang member roughly before spitting in the boys face. "Now-" The man was silenced , his own blood spilling from his throat , the edge of a knife pointing just out of it. "Bitch" Jess spoke , pulling her rambo out before grabbing her gun from the floor , shooting her father. "Nobody fucks with me!"

Throughout the two men being distracted by Tobi , Jess realised they hadn't actually took her weapons away from her. Dumb move. The other gang members rushed forward for the girl , only to let go of the sidemen. Jide's laugh spread through the building and things began to get fun. Jess gently helped Manny stand , shooting people who shot at them , before giving Manny her gun mumbling "Cover me" Before she made her way to the boy who was tied on the chair , taking the gag out of his mouth."Don't worry , we'll get you out of here" She mumbled to the shaking boy , untying his hands , once he was untied , Jed brought the girl into his arm , embracing her. "C'mon , i need to help Manny and the others" The boy nodded at her before the girl pulled away rushing back over to Manny to take her gun back , replacing it with her rambo.

Soon it was just them , the sidemen stood victorious once again. Jess made her way to her father who was trying to crawl away. She kicked his side making him fall to his side , crying out in pain as he clutched the bleeding bullet wound. "I told you Steven , i want to see you bleed" The girl sneered before laying rounds of bullets on the mans body , soon being held back by Tobi , who took the gun away from her. The boy then passed the gun to Josh who nodded at him , before rushing to his brothers feeling himself sob as he held them both.

"I'm never going to let you guys get hurt again"
