The next week was uneventful to say the most. Jess had distanced herself from the group , embarrassed that they had seen the scars , well most of the school had. Manny however , had stayed with the girl , not allowing anyone near her. But Thursday had rolled around and Manny was sick , so Jess was forced to be alone once again. Or so she thought.
As Jess walked through the school gates , she was met with a way to woke Lucy , "Dawn! we're going to hang out today" The girl yelled , dragging Jess away from the schools entrance. As Lucy let go of Jess , she stopped walking , speaking "One , it's Jess not dawn. two , we need to go to school and three , if we're hanging out why do your friends have to do" Lucy rolled her eyes at the girl dragging her over to the tesla where the sidemen sat. "One , i do what i like , two , i do what i like and three , they go where i go all the time" Jess huffed , shrugging as she climbed into the tesla. "How's Manny?"Jess mumbled to Tobi ,who sat in the passenger seat. "He's in bed , not moving" Tobi mumbled , the girl slumping in her seat sighing. "He told me to tell you that he'd be at your house if he feels better" Jess nodded at the boy before staring out of her window as they left the schools grounds. Tobi's eyes met the rear view mirror , his gaze falling onto Jess' bare face. She never wore make up , showing her true beauty and flaws. He sighed ,Simon , who sat in the drivers seat noticing and mumbled "You okay , tobes?" He glanced at the dark-skinned boy next to him. The boy shrugged his shoulders in response , not actually knowing if he was alright or not. Simon sighed , glancing at Jide with a worried face , Jide returning his gaze with a worn out one.
"How come Josh , Vik and Ethan aren't here?" Jess mumbled looking towards Lucy , noticing their absence. "Josh is hung over so Vik is looking after him and Ethan is there is something goes wrong and is also looking after Manny" Lucy explained getting out of the car causing Jess to glance outside to see they were at a mall. Jess frowned climbing out of the car and stuffed her hands in her Jumper pocket. "Come one , i'm going to doll you up" Jess' eyes widened as she was dragged into the mall.
Jess shook her head as Lucy held up another dress. "Please just try one on" Lucy begged the girl that stood in front of her. Jess eyed the dress' price tag mumbling "I know i like steal money , but i don't have enough for this dress" The girl darted her eyes to the hand that snatched the dress , Tobi kissing his teeth before pushing the girl into the changing rooms , "If you don't shut up , i'll come in there and undress you myself" This shut Jess' muttering about how annoying the group was and how they were doing this against her will. "I hate you all" Jess mumbled as she put the dress on. "Yeh , we don't care"Simon spoke while he sat on Jide's lap causing the boy to look around quickly before realising no one was around. Lucy slapped her brother on his arm , this was the only first girl she had ever bonded with and she wanted everyone to be nice to her.
"Lucy , i hate it - like no" Jess groaned out as she looked at herself in the mirror. "Well , let us see" Lucy said getting excited , her eyes widening when Jess walked out. Well everyone's eyes widened a few mouths hanging open. "See i told you , it's disgusting , i don't suit dresses" The small girl mumbled as she walked back into the changing room. Everyone was surprised by the girls quick actions , Lucy groaning and walked into the changing room. You could hear the hushed whispers from where the boys sat , most of them consisting of Lucy's loud 'whispers' , which went a little along the lines of 'You're not ugly because of your scars' and 'you're not fat'. Tobi frowned to himself , thinking the girl looked stunning in the dress. The two girls soon walked out of the cubicle , Jess clothed in her usual clothes , the dress in her hand as she walked towards the shop assistant , giving her the dress , Lucy huffing in defeat. Tobi kissed his teeth taking the dress back from the woman. "If you ain't getting it for yourself then i'll get it for you" He mumbled walking over to the tills. Jess' eyes widened in shock , making her way over to the boy. "No , tobi. I don't want it. i look -" "You look beautiful in it"Tobi turned to the girl , causing her cheeks to flush as she looked down. No one had even uttered the word beautiful near her before. She glanced up at the boy before walking away from him and out of the shop , ignoring the calls she received from Lucy.
"What the fuck did you say to her. I know you're not good with girls but like don't you have any dec-" "I called her beautiful Lucy" The boy mumbled grabbing the bag with the dress in , ignoring the confused stares he was receiving. The only thing Tobi had called a girl was a hoe , not beautiful.
"Jess come on - i'll drop you to your house , just get in the car." Simon shouted to the girl as she walked on the pavement. Jess didn't want to be near Tobi , he was making her feel things she didn't want to feel. "Jess just get in" Lucy shouted opening the door. Jess groaned knowing they would most likely kidnap her if she wouldn't get in willingly , so she approached the door , climbing into the car , shutting the door after herself. Jess ignored Lucy's glances and stared out the window wanting to go to sleep.
"Yo who's following us?" Jide perked up causing everyone to look out the back window , Jess' eyes widening in realisation. "Oh my god" She whispered , but the quietness made everyone hear her just fine. The girl gulped , tears brimming her eyes as her hands began to shake. "Jess what is it? do you know them?" Lucy questioned but Jess ignored her. "Simon we've got to go right now"Jess alerted , staring at the car that creeped up on them "Jess what's going on?" Harry questioned holding Lucy close to him. The girl shook her head not answering , keeping her eyes trained on the car. "jess , you're scaring me ,who is it?" Simon spoke , gripping the steering wheel. "We need to fucking go!" The girl shouted , not answering anyone' questions. "WHO THE FUCK IS IT JESS?!" Tobi yelled grabbing the girl and forcing her to look at him. "It's him ,it's my dad" She whimpered out , pushing the boy away before saying "Now fucking go!" And she saw the man smirk at her knowing he found her.
