Beatrice Black found herself stuck in between Fred and George. They joked and pushed her around. She just chuckled and flung her arms around both of their shoulders. The trio had to run to get in time for Professor McGonagall's meeting.
The whole Gryffindor students from third to the seventh year had been summoned to join the great hall for a special announcement. When they reached the hall, they found a grumbling Ron who was laughed at by Hermione and Harry.
The twins reached down to her ear and said, "don't worry we heard what happened at the hall the other day with the git, he got an earful from Ginny and us, well don't get too close to him because we might have planted some dung bombs in his bed".
The girl only squeezed their shoulders in gratitude.
When they stood together by the pillar they smiled smugly at the anxious third-years.
Soon the Gryffindor matron continued to speak, "The yule ball has been a tradition of the tri-wizard tournament since its inception. On Christmas eve night we and our guests gather in the great hall for well-mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school, I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the yule ball is first and foremost...a dance".
Groans emerged from the boys who are listening on. The girls seem a lot more excited. She just shrugged her shoulders at Fred and George's dramatic antics.
The Professor continued, "Silence. The house of Godric Griffindor has commanded the respect of the wizarding world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons".
The twins snickered and said, "try saying that five times faster".
The girl tried desperately but got tongue twisted. George held his laughter and playfully shoved his twin. The Gryffindor head launched a menacing glare and they quickly halted their snickering.
"Now to dance is to let the body breathe, inside every girl, a secret swan slumbers longing to burst forth and take flight. Inside every boy a lordly lion prepared to prance. Mr. Weasly, will you join me".
The trio let out a holler of laughter and wolf-whistled as Ron was obligated to dance with the Professor. Soon, McGonagall announced for everyone to join and dance. She quickly looked for someone available to practice.
She stood by her lonely cousin and said, "Say, Harry, you need to learn this you know?".
Harry scoffed and said, "I am excused, look at my shoulder. Besides, I am not dancing".
The girl laughed and said, "Merlin save your date, little brother".
Harry rolled his eyes playfully at the girl and said, "You'll go with Cedric right?".
She thought about the answer for a bit and said, "Well, of course, I will go with him, if he asks".
The blue-black haired girl was pulled away from Harry's side and into Fred's lanky form as he just swung his arm totally offbeat from the classical music playing. She laughed as she was spun relentlessly around the room.
After the fun fiasco, she headed to the library and found a stressed Cedric. She frowned and massaged his shoulders. He groaned feeling the knots from the back relax.
He said, "I finally produced the charm today at the bathroom, but it only lasted for twenty minutes".
She sighed into his hair and said, "you know I can ditch Hogsmeade to help you? I wouldn't mind at all, it's okay".
