Lunch had been eventful, to say the least. She had learned that Dolores Umbridge was a ministry placed professor who believed that the practical approach in defensive techniques was wrong since there were no looming threats or anything. If you asked the Beatrice, she would tell you that those ideas were a whole load of bullshit.
She was beyond livid when she found out that Harry had earned detention from her by expressing his thoughts. She already did not like the pink toad lady, making her mood worsen. She was already tired from the chatter and whispers she heard behind her back. Emma and Scarlett eventually helped the blue-black haired girl by sitting with her and acting like a barrier. She was grateful for that.
She indeed, more stressed about NEWTS. She filled her personal library with all the books she needed and made her dorm a library or study of sorts where she could concentrate better.
Soon, she left to DADA, a class she at her dismay, shared with the Slytherins. Upon entering, she noticed a seat furthest from the professor. She sighed as it was filled with other Gryffindor students, leaving her to take a seat closer to the front of the room.
"Good morning, children. Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test. N-E-W-T. More commonly known as NEWTs. Study hard and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so, and the consequences may be severe. Your previous instruction in this subject has been disturbingly uneven. But you'll be pleased to know, from now on... you will be following a carefully structured, Ministry-approved... course of defensive magic. Yes?", the professor stated in her chirping noise that sounded already like rubbish to Beatrice.
She gripped her table tighter as she mentioned the "disturbingly uneven past teachers", which referenced her godfather's lycanthropy. With just a few words from the foul woman, she was already fuming in her spot.
She gripped the table harder as she stared back to the students, finding her gaze in the Black girl. The pink gremlin smirked knowingly and asked,
"Oh, yes Ms. Black, I offer you my condolences about young Mr. Diggory, such a terrible accident, wouldn't you agree with me?"
That was it. The girl saw red, and her eyes flashed dangerously.
"No. I don't agree with you. Cedric's death was not an accident. I was there. Call me a liar all you want, but do not disrespect his memory saying that his death was an accident. I will not tolerate that. Besides, you have the audacity to sit there, in a post that was filled by the best dark arts professor we ever had, Professor Lupin, and don't teach us anything worthwhile to defend ourselves. Hence the name, DEFENSE.", the girl barked, every word laced with venom.
Umbridge fumed also, put plastered a smirk on her chubby face, "You mean the half breed professor which endangered the Hogwart's student being a known werewolf? May, I remind you, Ms. Black, that you are speaking to a figure of authority, and not your godfather. There is nothing out there, dear. Who do you imagine wants to attack children like yourself?"
She lashed out. This was her last straw. Her voice was laced with venom, even some students shrunk back at her angry demeanor,
"My godfather is none of your business Dolores. I won't be talking with the due respect you want because you don't deserve mine. My godfather is a werewolf and a better human being than you would ever aspire to be. There is nothing out there, you say? Then if it's this case, who killed Cedric? Who attacked me that day at the tournament? Who was the reason that Harry, Neville, and myself don't have parents? I would suggest, Dolores, that you should really shut your mouth instead of spreading heinous lies. Give me detention, hell even suspend me if you want, but even then, I will never recognize you as a figure of authority and respect, because you don't deserve it. I don't want to hear my godfather's or Cedric's name out of your traitorous lips, you pink gremlin".
