Beatrice Black wanted to move, but her feet were bound by a rope. She wanted to search for her wand but she cursed since she knew she left it at her dorm. She reached for her feet to untie the bonds that held her. The merpeople only watched in confusion, the treasures were not supposed to be awake until the champions retrieved them.

In the decks, a nervous Cedric Diggory was searching for his girlfriend, he reached one of the Weasley twins, Fred he presumed and asked, "Mate, I'm sorry to startle you, but have you seen Beatrice today?".

Fred shook his head and said confusingly, "I saw her yesterday when we were opening our gifts, then Professor McGonagall called her into her office, and I haven't seen her since. Maybe she had an early morning and she's just running late".

A pale Bill Weasley was at the champions deck, sporting a nervous expression. What if Diggory did not find her in time? Will the merpeople bring her back fast enough? Snapping out his daze, he continued to have an etched worried face.

Cedric made his way to the decks where he would jump into the lake. He greeted Krum and Fleur, waiting for Harry to start the task. Once the boy who lived appeared, the task commenced.

Dumbledore performed a Sonorus charm and continued, "Welcome to the second task. Last night something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the black lake. To win each champion needs only to find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough. Except for this, they will have one hour to do so and one hour only. After that, they'll be on their own"

Cedric glanced around him trying to find Beatrice. Soon he found a worried Bill Weasley who only managed to gulp and point at the lake. This was enough for Cedric to understand. His eyes widened and he choked, gasping for air.

Beatrice Black was his treasure, and she was somewhere inside the lake for him to find. He nodded back to the ginger main in gratitude. Merlin, he needed to find her now, he needed her to be safe. His eyes closed in desperation. He quickly thought of a plan and opened his eyes with a newfound determination.

"You may begin at the start of the cannon", Dumbledore continued. Then, a strong cannon resounded. The bronzed-haired boy did not even waste a second as he performed his bubble-head charm and launched himself off the deck.

He swam and swam to the depths of the lake, his arms stung and his legs were sore, but he needed to find Beatrice. Suddenly, a clearing came into view. He quickly hurried, but a slimy hand latched in his ankle. A Gryndylow.

He fished out his wand and yelled, "Reducto!".

The Gryndylow let go from his ankle and he continued to push himself. His chest felt heavy, and he managed to see the clock. Not even one minute had passed. He neared the clearing and he could see from afar four floating figures. He furrowed his eyes to notice one figure was desperately trying to escape the bonds which held it hostage. Then, he began to see the familiar blue-black hair floating around, and icy-blue eyes connected with his grey eyes.

He searched the other figures only to find them in a deep slumber. He realized that Beatrice Rose Black was awake, and she was running out of oxygen. He performed a relashio charm on the rope that was latched strongly in Beatrice's ankle.

Seeing this, the Black girl lifted her head to find the familiar boy swimming at great speed towards her. Her vision began to dot, and she tried to swim upwards in desperation. The boy took her by the waist and yelled, "Alerte Ascendare!".

He found himself and Tris launching from the depths of the black lake to surface. Beatrice coughed up water beside him. He quickly pushed her forward to reach the decks. The girl continued to gasp for air and her limbs ached, finding it hard to move except for Cedric's desperate shoves.
