Mommy

We were dancing in front of everyone. Tanging musika lang ang naririnig, everyone is silent. Dumapo ang tingin ko kina Tita Alina, walang emosyon silang nakatingin sa amin. Si Ate Aliyah lang ang nakangiti.

I can't help but to smile a little. Parang kanina lang, galit ako sa kanya, ngayon parang nawala na.

"I'm sorry, darling. Hindi ko alam na hahalikan ako ni Patricia kanina, I was shocked. Hindi ako nakagalaw. Sobrang tanga ko, I should've pushed her away," Puno ng pagsisisi ang kanyang boses. "I love you."

Those 3 words melted all my anxieties, all my doubts, and all my worries.

Nakaawang ang bibig ko habang nakatingin sa kanya. Heck, I am madly inlove with this guy. I am really inlove.

"Doon ka kay Patricia, ginusto mo naman ang halik niya," Pagtatampo ko. I won't let him get me that easily.

"Si mommy ang may pakana ng lahat na ito, siya ang nag set-up sa amin ni Patricia. Patricia knows that you're coming that's why she kissed me, she confessed that to me when you left," Hinalikan niya ang noo ko habang sumasayaw kami. I stared at him, trying to memorize his face.

"Your mother doesn't like me," Imik ko.

"I don't need her approval, Kaitlyn. At the end of the day, sa'yo lang ako tatakbo, you are my approval, darling. Now, tell me, will you choose me this time?"

I can't believe that this is happening.

Bigla siyang lumuhod sa harapan ko. Nagulat ako sa ginawa niya. Suot ko ang engagement ring na binigay niya pero hinubad niya iyon mula sa kamay ko.

May hawak siyang mic habang nasa kaliwang kamay ang engagement ring. It's a diamond ring, but this time, it is simple and elegant. Maliit lang ang bato pero napuno nito ang buong singsing.

I heard different whispers from the guests. They were shocked. Hindi nila alam na ganito ang mangyayari.

I also thought that we will take this slow, pero parang atat si Aiden. We already talked about this, akala ko, pagkatapos ng party niya hihingin ang kamay ko. But oh well, this is unexpected.

"Kaitlyn Lee Cervantes, will you be my boss, my best friend, my partner, my other half, and my wife?"

Isa-isang tumulo ang luha ko. I am very happy. Lumingon ako sa mommy ni Aiden, she looked shocked but when she saw me asking for her approval, she just smiled. Ate Aliyah looked happy for us, she's also smiling. While his Dad is showing his perfect set of teeth, he seems very happy.

I saw Zenaida waved at me. Nag thumbs up siya. I saw Patricia from afar, she's crying, really hard. I can't help but to feel bad for her. Mabait siya, maganda, she deserves someone who will reciprocate her love, not Aiden.

She nodded while looking at me. Ngumiti siya pero pilit iyon, I can see that she's trying to be strong even uf she's breaking. For 4 years, siya ang kasama ni Aiden, magkaibigan sila, now, she falls for him, and he can't do anything, he cannot catch her.

"Yes, Aiden," Tumango-tango pa ako sa kanya. He smiled widely. He inserted the ring into my finger and hugged me tightly.

Naramdaman kong tumulo ang luha niya habang yakap yakap ako. I am the happiest girl right now.

"Now, I promise, nothing could go wrong, darling. Nothing could go wrong."

I will also promise that I will not run away from you ever again, Aiden.

And I will seal it with a kiss.

"Anong kailangan mo, Kaitlyn?" Mahinang tanong ni Patricia sa akin. May hawak siyang isang tray, nag seserve ng drinks sa isang bar.
