"Hermione, anak. Gising na, unang araw ngayon ng pasukan. Inaantay ka na namin ng Papa mo sa baba." Mama wake me up, she is my alarm clock since I started to go at the school. Today is my first day being a junior high school student, I wish this is not going to be expectations vs reality.
I had to take a shower first, it makes me feel good removing all the stress and toxicity in my mind. I'm wearing a black fitted over-sized shirt with a skinny jeans. Also pair of white sneakers and tote bag.
They instructed our parents from the orientation not to wear our uniform but ID is important.
"Ma, Pa." I kissed them on their cheek. "Good morning." I see those smiles on they're faces.
"Good morning, anak. Kumain ka ng marami, para may lakas ka hanggang mamaya." Papa really loves me, he treated me like a princess, giving all my needs and sacrifices his life on abroad as OFW. Umuwi lang siya last month dahil Graduation ko.
Graduated as Valedictorian, with so many extra awards. Papa decided to go home, just to feel that I am now done on the first part of my life.
"Pa, 2 hours lang naman kami sa school ngayon since orientation pa lang." Paliwanag ko dahil masyadong marami ang inihain ni Papa sa aking plato.
"Naku, hindi naman pwedeng nagugutom ang prinsesa ko."
Napangiti na lamang ako habang kumakain, sa dahilan na kahit hindi kami ganoon kayaman ay ginagawa nila ang lahat upang maibigay ang lahat ng aking gusto. Sapat na rin yung ganito sa akin, sanay naman na ako na umaalis din si Papa kapag nakuha niya na ang kanyang kontrata.
"Pa, let's go? We only have 30 minutes left hehe." Agad naman siyang nag-ayos at sumakay na sa sasakyan.
"Good luck on your first day, anak. Make friends but always take care of yourself. I love you." He kissed my cheek and I open the car, and wave my hand to him. I'm just thankful that I have a parents who is very supportive to me.
Agad naman akong napa-tingin sa XCA, Xavier Constan Academy. Sobrang laki nitong school na 'to kung ikukumpara mo noong nasa Elementary pa lang ako, kung sabagay private school. I am scholar right now. Pinili ko na ang pinaka-magandang school dito sa amin, mahirap man ay kakayanin.
I enter the school, with so many teen girls and boys, like I see this on movies. Those bitches face na akala mo'y gumawa ka ng krimen, o pwede rin namang inagaw mo ang kani-kanilang mga jowa. Well, judgemental na ko.
"Hermione, nasa labas si Olivia and Fleur hinahanap ka." Nasa harapan ko si Bellatrix, ang isa sa mga classmate namin noong Elementary.
"Sige, salamat." Nag-lakad ako ng mabilis at hindi naman ako nahirapang hanapin ang dalawang kaibigan ko na akala mo'y pupunta sa kung saan dahil sa mga suot nila at may sunglasses pang kasama.
"Hermione, anong meron parang gumaganda ka. Nice outfit." Pang bati sa akin ni Olivia, maingay talaga ang kaibigan kong ito, pero mahal na mahal ko yan.
"Hermione, you look like a human now." I nodded and hug them before ako tumalikod at agad naman nila akong sinundan sa pag-pasok.
I see those eyes of Fleur, she is very serious girl but a very dedicated to make her family proud, while Olivia is the opposite of Fleur the very funny one but when it comes to problem she can make a good solution. And me, neutral of them. I can be funny but also serious.
We go to the gymnasium as a sign of flag ceremony and welcoming the freshmen like us.
"Grabeng maka-tingin 'tong mga ito. Mayaman kaya si Fleur." Natawa na lang ako ng sabihin ni Olivia ito ng pabulong sa amin, totoong si Fleur ang pinaka-mayaman sa amin, kaya nauutangan namin yan kapag kinakapos kami.
"Shh, Olivia shut your mouth." That's Fleur I know since the day we met.
After finding our section, we immediately line to them. I see those familiar faces, some of them our schoolmate before, section B. But now, they are on section A which makes my mouth 'o'.
The ceremony is done, we'll now proceed to our classroom. I can now finally say that I'm a high school student, this is my dream. They introduce each of the faculty members, and Sir Sirius is our Adviser. I heard that he is strict and a Science teacher.
Science subject is not for me.
Umupo kami sa dulo bilang nahihiya kami, samantalang ang iba ay nag-aagawan pa sa harap dahil gustong gusto makita ang mukha ni Sir Sirius.
"Calm yourself, Hermione. Walang nakakatakot sa kanya." Fleur said, with a serious face. Kung hindi ko lang alam ang apilido ni Fleur ay hinala kong mag-ama sila.
"Good Morning, class A." Tumayo kami ngunit agad niyang itinaas ang kanyang kamay dahilan para kaming lahat ay umupo at huwag ng batiin pa siya.
"Again, good morning. Class A. I am Sirius Minerales, your Class Adviser for the school year 2019-2020. A science and values education teacher."
S-Sirius Minerales? As I heard his surname, Olivia and I quickly turn to Fleur. Fleur Minerales is her name to be exact.
"Oh, that's my lovely daughter. Fleur Minerales." The eyes of our classmates suddenly go to our direction. As he said that Fleur is her daughter. Fleur is not open when it comes to his family, and we understand that.
"Since your a freshman, introduce yourself. Lets start from the back." Fleur stand up, smiling.
"Hi, my name is Fleur Minerales, 13." Sir Minerales smiled at her daughter before she take her seat. And now this is my time.
"Hermione Illiana Monterde, 13." Ginaya ko na lang si Fleur, kaibigan naman ako ng 'lovely daughter' niya.
"Olivia Veneracion, 12." Si Olivia nga pala ang pinaka-bata sa aming tatlo, pero siya ang pinaka-maingay at kadalasan ay taga-sagot ng aming mga problema.
After we introduce ourselves, that Harry Corvus Montenegro caught my eye for a whole orientation. He seems like a mysterious guy, he's looking at me now.
"Excuse me." His voice our cold as ice.
Binangga nito ang aking mga braso, at bilang pag-ganti binato ko ang hawak kong notebook. Head shot, good job.
"Monterde, at my office. Now!" Sir Minerales said.
Bawat tapak namin ay rinig na rinig ko dahil sa katahimikan, masyadong malayo ang office ni Sir Minerales kumpara sa ibang faculty members. Kinakabahan ako dahil hindi maaaring matanggal ang scholarship ko.
"What came to your mind and you did that to Mr. Montenegro?" Sa laking kanyang boses ngayon, ay nanginginig na ang aking mga kamay.
"You don't know what hap--" Hindi natapos ang pag-sagot ni Fleur dahil agad itong pinutol ni Sir Minerales.
"Shut up, Minerales. Pinayagan ko na ngang kasama kayo sa pag-pasok ng aking office kahit walang pahintulot." Nabaling muli ang kanyang tingin sa akin. "Now, Hermione Monterde. Right?" I nodded. "You have scholarship, matalino ka. Sa susunod na gagawin mo pa iyon ay maaring mawala ng parang bula ang iyong pinag-hirapan."
Hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko, dahil mali rin naman ako ngunit nauna siyang gawin ang hindi naman dapat.
"He is Montenegro, one of the biggest investor of XCA."
