Kaiyo's Pov

After helping Midoriya and Ojiro, I left the waiting room to give him some time preparing for the match. They will be the first pair to compete in the third round, so he must be pretty nervous now.

I made my way to the player waiting room for the second match. Todoroki looked like he wanted to tell me something earlier when we were about to leave the field, and I had a feeling that I have to be there for him somehow.

Rounding the corner leading to the room, I was stopped when I saw a large, ignited figure across me. He was facing me, so he already saw me before I could turn around to avoid him. I did what I thought was most appropriate, bowing respectfully even when he doesn't deserve it.

Causing a scene won't do me good, after all.

I tried to walk past him after bowing, but just when I passed his figure, he calls for me and stopped me from walking. I turned around to face him. His eyes were looking down at me, swirling with seriousness.

"Watanabe Kaiyo, am I correct?" He asks.

I nodded, not trusting my voice to speak for me. With all the things I've heard from Todoroki himself, it was difficult not to land a hard slap on this man's face.

"You're Akira and Shiro's brat." He mumbled. "I didn't expect you to be out and about after that incident years ago."

"With all due respect, sir, I would like it if you don't bring it up anymore." I said back, finally snapping the moment he mentioned my parents. "It isn't any of your business."

"They surely raised one hell of a child." He scoffed. "That's not what I'm here for. I've noticed that you're fairly close to my son."

I didn't let him see me stiffen at his words. If it involved Todoroki, then he will surely want me to do something. The worst thing I could think of is that he'll use me to get his goal from his son. I'm not about to do that.

"What about him, sir?" I ask.

"I'm leading him down the path of the mighty. Girls like you will only waste his time and distract him from his dream."

"His dream?" I couldn't hold back a humorless chuckle. "If I'm getting this right, it's yours. Todoroki isn't a pawn for you to achieve your own wishes, so I suggest you think about that before it's completely too late."

It was silent for a moment. He tried to intimidate me with his glare, but I only held it and sent it back right at him. If he thinks that he can get his way around Todoroki through me, then he had another thing coming for him.

Unlike Endeavor, I actually let people decide for themselves. I understand the concept of having own dreams, and how no one can ever force anyone to follow the path they were never born to do.

"Endeavor, don't get me wrong when I say that you're being blinded by your own ambitions. Todoroki is your son, and he doesn't deserve to be treated the way you are doing to him." I said firmly. "He has his own dream to catch, so I suggest you support him on that instead of wasting your time forging him into someone he's not."

"You don't get to decide what's good for my son."

"What makes you think you can?"

He may not show it much, but I knew that my words were getting to him. His folded arms tightened around him. It was a reaction I was satisfied of, knowing that I was getting through his thick skull.

Before I say anything else that may prolong the conversation, I bowed and turned around to head for the waiting room. I should be with Todoroki, not his father.
