Kaiyo's PoV

I expected that Principal Nezu would talk to me about the hero agency I was invited to work for. I'm not gonna lie and say that it wasn't that, but it only felt like it was just a part of what I was needed to be told of.

After classes, I told Shoto that I will have to drop by the office. He told me that he'd wait for me, which is why he was currently waiting outside.

"Remember when your quirk was erased?" He asks.

I froze for a moment, remembering how terrifying that feeling was. I would still have nightmares about it whenever I sleep, so I only get a few hours every night. It was the reason why I have been quite sleepy during classes, and not just Math.

My head nodded back in response, choosing not to trust my mouth to speak. If I did, my voice would quiver instantly.

"It seems like the agency that just recruited you found a lead on it." He smiled. "They originally hired you for your skill and intellect, but when they heard that you were also the one who experienced the bullet's effects first-hand, they were more than willing to do anything to get you onboard."

The person disgusting enough to even invent such a dangerous chemical. They have a lead on them now?

This is great.

I can't afford to pass up this opportunity.

I thought back to the time I bumped into Eri, remembering how there were needle marks and cuts all over her body. If she had something to do with this, then there is a big chance that we find her too.

"I'll gladly join, please!" I bowed respectfully with my hands on my sides. "I'm sure that I will be of great help to them with what I know about the current situation."

"Great!" He exclaimed. "You mean to say that the bullet wasn't the only thing you know, right?"

I nodded again, straightening my posture to meet his gaze. "I bumped into someone I suspected is a victim of this scheme." I said firmly. "She told me things that wasn't really expected."

"I see. Save that intel for the agency, Kaiyo." Principal Nezu jumps on his table and stood there. His hands tucked behind him neatly. "You have been quite uneasy since you came back. Whatever this matter may be, it is important that you play your role in it."

I should.

I will.

Eri is still in danger. If my hunches were right and that she is the center of all of this, then this is the time for me to utilize what I have been shaping up my entire life. My first mission as someone acknowledged like a pro-hero.

When I was dismissed, I humbly bowed again and left the office to meet with Shoto outside. He was standing by the glass walls across the room, one hand tucked inside his pocket while the other was staying idle on his side.

His face broke into a smile when he saw me coming out, making me return the same smile to him without even needing to say it to myself. I stood in front of him, taking his free hand out of instinct.

"You're done?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm sorry you had to wait long."

"It's fine," he leads me down the stairs. "You seem a little uneasy. Did something bad happen?"

"Nope, quite the opposite, actually." I grinned. "It's just, I'm a little scared."

"That's a first." We stopped outside the school when he tugged at my hand gently. I turned to face him, seeing his narrowed eyes that displayed a look of concern. "What's wrong?"
