Kaiyo's Pov
The festival moved on faster than I expected it to be. Before I knew it, we were already on the second round.
I was making my way to my designsted waiting room, and I intended to go alone, but Shoto insisted that he goes with me. Something about returning the favor since I checked on him earlier.
"This round will determine whether or not we fight against each other." I said. "You better win against Midoriya."
"As if I'll lose." He gave a small smirk back. "I never got used to losing."
"Maybe you should lose more often." I shrug.
"I prefer winning, so I'll stick to that."
"Well, I'm going to have to make you lose when we go against each other."
I smirked, provoking him to the edge. A challenge spices things up, and I love making things exciting.
Maybe it was from my parents that I love having adrenaline pump my system. Though, there will also be times that I will have to stay calm and rational to think through situations. Dangerous situations where lives are at risk.
I can only do things like this when it's all fun and games. The moment I'm in front of a villain, that yearn for adrenaline will be gone in an instant.
"Do you have anyone in mind to talk about the glow?" Shoto pulled me out of my thoughts. "There is Aizawa-sensei. His eyes glow when he activates his quirk, so it might not be as serious as we may have thought."
"Maybe,"
We reached the player waiting room. "I'll talk to my aunt about it too. Just in case something else comes up."
"Like having another quirk?"
Somehow, that possibility made me even more uncomfortable about myself. Having a new quirk I will have to get used to while in the middle of high school. I was never prepared for anything spontaneous like that.
It will take a toll on me if that's the case. There will be more tricks to practice and pull off, and that would be the hard part. I can't stand having something useful that I cannot utilize for good.
"We'll see about that." I sighed. "Along with the internal body parts thing, I think I have too much to worry about."
"Try not to stress about it." He said. He placed a firm hand on my shoulder as a way of showing comfort. "Focus on your next battle, okay? I'll help you with your research later after the festival."
I nod.
He was right. I should focus on what's happening right now. "I'll see you later, then."
After bidding him goodbye, I disappeared behind the waiting room door and prepared myself for my match against Iida. He will be a tough one, especially with his new skill, recipro burst.
It was faster than I've ever seen before, and it will be hard to dodge or even control him when he's in that state. Iida without his recipro already has good grip on his quirk, so it will be challenging.
If I want to get through, I will have to avoid controlling him. He will expect me to do that like I once did during the cavalry battle. Knowing him, he will most likely end the battle as soon as it begins.
I looked up at the tv screen against the corner of the room, watching Shoto and Midoriya's fight. I have been planning too much that I forgot about their match.
Midoriya was beaten up, and his legs won't be able to hold him any longer. Shoto was covered in frost too. It looked like just one hit is enough to knock the two down, but their legs were keeping them up.
