in the distance i see jaden with a baseball cap on backwards and his black hair coming out of it. his toothy grin and a sweatshirt and shorts on. he looked amazing.

"oh my god." i mumble

i run towards him and i jump in his arms. it felt that time had stopped for us. everything was moving so slow and in that moment i wasn't worried about calling my mom or texting my new friend maggie, all i cared about was finally being in jadens arms.

he lifted me off the ground and his face was snuggled into my neck, "welcome to california angel." he whispers sending chills down my spine

"it's finally nice to meet you." i chuckle

"am i dreaming?" he looks at me, "this feels like a dream."

"i can't believe i'm here." i sigh

"well let's get you out of here." he grabs one of my bags, "i'm sure you're tired."

we walk out together making small talk about the plane ride and how i was as we reach his car, "this is yours?"

he nods smiling, "you like?"

"like?" i scoff, "i love. it's so different than cars in new jersey."

"different cars than new jersey?" he chuckles

"bro i drive a honda." i say as he puts my bags in the trunk, "you drive an audi."

"so?" he shrugs

"big difference." i say shutting the door, "i feel boujee."

"you should." he says, "you're an la girl now."

"not quite." i point a finger, "you can take the girl out of new jersey, but you can't take the new jersey out of the girl."

"truest statement." he says, "so."

"so?" i repeat after him

"what's the first thing you want to do while you're down here?" he asks

"eat in and out." i say proudly

"in and out?" he scoffs, "overrated."

"is that so?" i say

"but anything the princess wants." jaden says as he turns in in and out

"that was quick." i say

"there's like seven in an outside just in los angeles." he says, "whatchu want?"

"what's good?" i ask

"the milkshake and fries are." he says

"just a small milkshake and small fries." i answer him, "i'll pay for mine."

"um absolutely not." he looks at him, "my treat."

"are you sure?" i ask, "i feel bad."
