WEEKS LATER.
Weeks passed and everything was back to normal. I did have nightmares sometimes but my sleep was approving.
I was finishing up in my design class when Jessica ran up to me.Jessica: you never know what just happened!
I stood up from my seat with one raised eyebrow and chuckled.
Me: You need to calm down a bit. We don't know what anxiety is in this class.
Jessica: Ah, right. You, design and your peace. What a combo.
I laughed and put my seat back on the desk.
Me: I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that. (I sighed) What happened?
Jessica: Eric just asked me out!
Oh my god- I'm totally so not freaking out right now. Since the day when I saw those two in front of the school, they have been talking every day and I know, cause Jessica has brought him up every day since then.
I chuckledMe: Who would have thought? Are you excited?
Jessica: Well, yeah?!
Me: When's the date?
Jessica: Tonight
She made a sheepish smile. Usually, Jessica and I go to the zoo once a month, to see how over I am about my mother's death. It's cruel since I don't think I'll ever be but I need to do that to move on with my life and I have a tendency to be stuck in the past. I looked at her.
Me: Hey, it's cool.
Jessica: don't believe that for a second.
Me: maybe. But we tend to become older and I can't hold you back of your maybe future husband.
Jessica: Don't say that. We're nothing yet.
Me: you know me, Jessica. I like to dream.
Jessica: that you do.
I chuckled and started walking towards the classroom door to lock it. I somehow manage to be the last one every time.
Jessica: Seriously tho.. are you okay?
Me: Yes! I'll go hang there for a bit myself and then go home.
I chuckled.
Me: Now run! Before I change my mind.
Jessica hugged me tightly from behind and when I turned around, the hallway was empty. I locked the door, smiling to myself, and brought keys to the janitor.
LATER
I was in the zoo, walking the road that me and Jessica usually do. I looked at the sky, it was a beautiful day and I was actually happy. My friend was on her date and I was managing this better then I thought. Of course, music helped.
I made it to the section where birds were when I heard a terrifying scream. At first, when I took my headphones out, there was silence for a moment but then many screams followed and I started looking around. Suddenly, many people were running towards me, screaming for help. They passed me and I was confused for a second. Not long enough, my confusion faded and it was replaced by the deepest, most life-threatening fear.. so far. I was facing a wild grizzly bear.
He was looking at me, with his dark eyes and I lost myself. I started taking slow steps backward, yet he was still looking at me. I turned around and started to run. When running, I felt adrenaline like never before. I didn't know if I should scream or laugh cause I was obviously acting pretty dumb right now. I found a place to hide and I started waiting. The bear came closer and the last thing what I heard was this little sound.
