It was around 2 p.m when Peyton had already parked his car outside of my house. We were both inside of his car and looking at my house.

Peyton: I don't know what to do in this case. I guess you might not be in the mood for this but the truth is that we need tell him.

I turned my head around to face him.

Me: How am I going to tell him that? Before I left the house, I told him we were going to camp?!

Peyton crunched his eyebrows at me.

Peyton: why would you tell him that?

Me: I don't know! I felt like it was the only way He might let me out of the house.

Peyton: Didn't you mention something about lying? Back at the station after the incident in the zoo?

I turned red. Peyton was pointing out the truth what I should be doing instead of this. I wasn't proud of myself what I did next.

Me: He's my father

Peyton looked puzzled. We both knew that this was only an excuse.

Peyton: Josephine, you love him and you are

Peyton stayed silent. He looked like he was deep in his thoughts.

Peyton: I truly don't get your rules at the church so whatever. It's just, when you said you were a Christian, I thought Of someone who was honest like 24/7. But it's your father own, so not my problem.

He looked at my house.

Peyton: I just hope I won't suffer from any of your doings.

Me: of course it's not.

Peyton: look, I remember the day back in Harrington office. He cares about you a lot.

Me: he does and same goes to me. Can't that poor man have a little rest in his daily life.

Peyton stayed quiet for a bit but then smirked.

Peyton: isn't lying a sin?

Me: it is but keeping quiet isn't.

Peyton: ahah, so how much time would you bet on him to stay in the dark?

Me: it would work better if you kept your mouth shut for once.

Peyton open his mouth as he was shocked to hear it and then laughed.

Peyton: boom, roasted.

He chuckled

Peyton: But darling, I'm not the one who constantly has to figure out a way to keep quiet.

I turned to him with a shocked face and he continued laughing.

Me: pull yourself together policeman. If anyone's going to tell the truth, it will be me. Just give me some time.

Peyton: sure, I can. By the way, nice dress!

I looked at my bag, where I had put my white dress.

Me: You liked it?

Peyton took confident steps towards me. When he finally stopped, we were only few inches apart from each other.

Peyton: You can say that.Maybe a bit more then I thought.

Me: I wonder what that could ever mean...

Peyton: Ever?

He moved his face closer to mine, so that our lips were barely touching. I wasn't even touching him but somehow I knew his pulse. The moment became very intense and I knew where this will lead up to. Any other girl would know in this position.
