I was in my room, drawing another sketch of someone I didn't know because faces were different every time.  Suddenly I heard my phone made a "ding". Someone had sent me a message.

Unknown: How are you?

Me: Who's this?

Unknown: It's Peyton. I was given your phone number.

Me: wait? Why?

Peyton:  Cause you need a bodyguard for the time being

My phone fell to the bed and I looked out of the window while trying to understand.  I did remember what Matt said but I thought it was just an idea.

Me: wait, you're serious?

Peyton: yes, what did you think?

Me: that it was an idea that seemed good at that time?

Peyton: good or not but it's final.

Me: fine. When does your duty begin?

Peyton:  actually... look down.

I  was confused but did how he wanted.  I saw nothing, just a few cars were outside. I started to write to him but he already had sent another text.

Peyton: one of the cars is mine

My eyes widened

Me: you're stalking me?

Peyton laughed

Peyton: Nah. I just came here to see the surroundings.

Me: you're kidding right?

Peyton: no. If I want to be my best when it's daylight, I can't keep myself awake all night. We're bringing security cameras here tomorrow.

Me: okay?

Peyton: I'm going. See you tomorrow.

Me: when?

Peyton: I'm your ride to school.

Me: since when?

Peyton: since today.

He ended the call. I heard an engine starting and I looked out a window. I saw a black car driving out of its parking spot.

Me: he was so close?

I kept my eyes on the car until it disappeared into the darkness of the night. I didn't know how I felt about this, so I continued my sketch.

NEXT DAY.

I was woken up by a terrible noise. Sleep still in my eyes, I barely reached my hand to the phone. My phone was silent like a stone. I put it back on the table and enjoyed the softness of my pillow.

Another loud noise came and I climbed out of bed while letting out a curse. It was barely 7 a.m and my phone was innocent, so I checked out of the window. The car from last night was parked in front of our house.
