THE NEXT DAY

Me and Jessica planned to spend the whole day together to get ready for the upcoming party tonight. To be honest, I haven't had a chance to feel this good In a while now. Ever since me and Peyton had found the mysterious ring in the attic, I was doubting some parts in my life and basically starting to question everything. My mom, my dad, the past...  Even though the ring raised more questions, my mind was given some peace.

I was looking myself in the mirror, thinking of scenarios how could tonight and my near future end up, and right now I was optimistic about them all. Sure, the stupid ring was under my skin but I knew I was better than that and that itself said something about my situation.
I was brought back by my phone ringing. I ran next to my bed to pick it up.

Me: Hello?

Jessica: Hey Jose! Are you letting me in? I'm at your front door.

I ended the call and ran downstairs to let Jessica in.  My eyes widened when I saw her coming in with her packed luggage.

Me: what's all this?

Jessica: hello? Tonight? we're going to the party and...

She paused, looking at me with her knowing smirk.

Jessica: We're both going to have fun time.

I was pretty sure my mouth was open by the amount of bags she had with her. I stood aside for her to come in. I was so sure that she wouldn't get all of them inside at once. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

Jessica: come on! It might feel like we have the whole day to prepare ourselves but we do have to get ready.

She removed her shoes easily and walked fast to the staircase. I admired how those bags wasn't making it difficult for her to get upstairs and I automatically followed her. Once she made it to my room, she let all those bags drop on the floor. To be honest, I didn't find it attractive how her packages mostly filled my room, making it a bit harder for us to move there.

Me: Wow, now that's a mess. How are you going to clean this place?

Jessica gave me a look, that I barely made something out of. She had one of those faces that screamed ''what did you just say to me??''

Jessica: Okay, I'll probably need your help with this but it's only for today, you'll survive.

She stood up to look at me

Jessica: No w, back to business. Where's your dress?

Me: right

I nodded and walked to my closet. Soon I pulled out a beautiful dress for Jessica to see. The dress was in dusty rose colour and it was already companied with my jewelry, that I had recently bought. I swear I saw Jessica's mouth fell open when she saw the whole outfit.

Jessica: So beautiful. You're going to look amazing tonight.

I chuckled as a response. As I looked at the dress, I felt shivers in my body. I could tell I was excited about tonight. I, once again, started admiring the pearly rose coloured dress in my hands. I really loved the material and the design of it.

HOURS LATER

We had spends hours now at my place getting ready. First few hours we just talked, watched a movie, and discussed about the party tonight. Even went through how I didn't have a date but Jessica could only smile to herself at that. It seemed weird but I wasn't going to look much into it. She might as well been thinking about the dance and Eric, her boyfriend.

When it was roughly 4 p.m we both took a shower and started getting ready. I wasn't very handy with makeup anyway so I was glad that  I only had few things to put on: face cream, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and my new perfume.
