NEXT DAY

When I was finally back to normal and a needle was removed, I was escorted to the police station. They took me straight to the room, where you have people asking you questions. The building and corridors inside the station were different then I had previously imagined them to be.  When we finally natives to the room, I was there alone about 10 minutes, then Peyton entered the room with an older man who I hadn't seen before. They both sat down on the other side of the table.

Man: Hello! I'm mr. Smith and this is mr. Scott. We're here to ask you few questions.

He took out a file that was light yellow and a picture on top. It even had my name on and he opened it.

Mr. Smith: Josephine Hunt, 20 years old, moved to USA years ago from Europe?

Me: to be more specific, it's Sweden. My father got a new job here and months of planning went into it since it was a drastic change of events. But fortunately it turned out to be a nice scenery change.

Mr. Smith nodded and looked back at the paper.

Mr. Smith: currently studying graphic design in University of Miami.

Both men were now looking at me.

Me: They say to follow your dreams and my passion is art. I did wanted to try out landscape architecture but alas.

Mr. Smith: okay.

Me: Look, whatever you might think, I'm telling you the truth - I haven't got anything to do with those accidents. I'm innocent and that's the truth.

Mr. Smith closed the file, put it on the table and looked at me.

Mr. Smith: Things are complicated right now miss Hunt. You claim to be innocent but you still somehow ended up at the right place on both occasions. We're doing our best.

Me: This isn't fair. I don't know how long you'll be keeping me here or what kind of evidence  you have against me. There will be a day when you finally understand that I've been telling you the truth.

Peyton looked at me.

Peyton: Without any real and specific evidence, we're taking repercussions.

Mr. Smith: I advise you to calm down, miss Hunt.

I was really getting annoyed by this. They want justice in life? Fine..

Me: Open the file!

Mr. Smith opens the file and looks back at me.

Me: You got the information? Please tell me that it also says that I'm member of a church. I'm a Christian.

I gave them both my victorious smile.

Mr. Smith looked down at the paper and then back at me. He stayed neutral while Peyton seemed to be a bit embarrassed.

Me: please tell me you have heard anything of 10 commandments? You know.. the one in the bible? One that specifically states you to never lie.

Mr. Smith: I have and I know many, who still seem to do the opposite as an Christian.

Me: Human is sinful by nature. Lying is not something we learn because when one might be bad at it, the other one feels like it's their second nature. Sure, anyone can get better at it but I believe the first version.
