Chapter 20

Charlie's P.O.V.

I kiss the tears of Matt's face as he is crying because he misses spending time together as a couple.

"I will be here next time, I promise," I tell him as I hold him in my arms.

I do not want to make the same mistake again that I put my career over my boyfriend. I won't let this one end in a breakup.

"Will you? You probably have another pop-up or a premier." Matt says crying into my chest before I stroke his hair.

"Look, Matt, we can figure this out we just need time," I explain to him trying to make him sadder as my eyes start to tear up.

I do not want to make my boyfriend cry especially when he is crying because he misses me. If I can just take all his pain away, I will even if it would hurt me instead.

"Matt, please don't be sad or scared or whatever you are feeling. I will always be here. I might not be here physically but I am always one phone call away." I continue to speak to Matt as we lay in my bed both crying.

"Just stay here with me for a couple of months. We don't have to move, we can get a maid." Matt whispers loud enough for me to hear before I chuckle.

"I don't think that's how it works but I'll do anything for you. Who would you like as the maid? I think Seth Rogen would be a great asset."

"I think so too."

"-But I do need to go to Japan for a movie. It's like a month long but you can come with me and I invited the squad so you won't feel alone." I say since I know he probably won't like me leaving again but it's Japan and he loves Japan so I really hope he doesn't mind.

"I umm, I have to think about it." Matt says getting out of my grip before getting up.

This is not a good sign.

"You just got back and you're leaving again." Matt says but it just looks like there is no emotion on his face.

"That's my career, I can't change it."

"You can say no."

"I'm not going to say no. It ruins the purpose of a Hollywood Career. Sorry I forgot you only know YouTube career and fame." I comment extremely pissed.

"You don't always have to bring up that their different, don't you think I know that?"

"No you don't because you expect me to always go by the youtuber's role and 'manual' well guess what that manual does not work in an actual career. What are you going to do when you become old and good looks don't work?" I say extremely but extremely pissed before making my way out of his house.

Honestly, every time we are together we just finish arguing. I think it's because we just both miss each other so much and don't want the other one to leave and just trigger our flight or fight response to try to not get hurt. But love and relationships don't work that way.

I get on my car before driving to my house to talk to Evan since he always has the best advice.

"Hi." I say waking into my house to see Evan in the living room chilling.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asks as he sees my puffy red eyes.

"Relationship troubles."

"What's wrong? Let's see what I can help you with?"

"Just long distance relationships suck. It's so hard and Matt is so needy and wants me to be there all the time but I have a career that needs me to be all over the place." I say after I take a seat beside Evan.

"Does it ever occur to you that Matt loves you and is afraid of losing you because you might find someone else because you're always traveling?"

"No because he doesn't need to be afraid because that's not going to happen."

"It won't? To the press it looks like you and Niall are a thing."

"That's because that is what management wants the press to think."

"Don't you think that Matt is seeing what the press is seeing?"

"Then maybe he should trust my word then."

"He won't, he doesn't have self-reassurance."

"What should I do then?"

"You'll have to choose one."

"Choose one?"

"Career or love. Which one do you choose?" Evan says before I get up from the couch.

He's right and I have to make it right. I have to fix it with Matt because I do love him and he should not be thinking that he isn't enough.

"Good morning." I speak up after I kiss Matt on his lips since we made up yesterday after I talked to Evan.

"Morning." Matt says very excitedly, why is he so excited?

"Why are you so excited for?" I ask him curiously as I start making myself some coffee after getting ready for the day.

"We're going to go sightseeing today." Matt says answering my question before I look at him confuse.

"That's today?" I ask him before his whole mood changes.

I feel so bad. I mean how could I forget? I've literally been working so much for the past two weeks that I just can't. Like I wake up and head to work and then come back and go to sleep. But that's my life and I wouldn't change it.

"Do you think we could change it to next week? Or when we come back from Japan since we leave next week." I ask Matt before he shakes his head.

Yes, Matt agreed to come with me to Japan!

"You said that the past 2 weeks."

"I'm sorry but work has me very busy." I explain to him but he just shakes his head.

"I can't do this. I'm not going to move to Japan for you so you can be working all the time and never have time for me." Matt mentions before I look down at the floor.

"I do have time for you but right now it's a rough spot."

Well that's the doorbell. I have to get going to work since that is my ride, David Corenswet.

"I have to get going but we can talk about this later." I interrupt our meaningful conversation after serving myself the coffee.

"We're talking about us now. If you leave then might as well come back and I won't be here."

"I can't be late for work but I'll be back tonight." I explain before I grab my coffee mug and run out of the apartment so my ride won't leave.
