HIS HANDS ARE FREEZING

"What business do you have here?" Hanji shouted out.

The fact that his hands are 0 degrees kelvin only continues to support my running theory that he is in fact a vampire.

Levi reached for the curtain, opening it for a fraction of a second.

I don't know how that points to him being a vampire but it does.

"State your business," Hanji pressed once again.

But uhm focus Y/N I think something is happening outside.

Levi continued to hold his hand over my mouth- too focused on the conversation outside to even think about how uncomfortable this was.

I promise I won't talk if you would just move your ice cube of a hand off of my face.

"Is this Duke Ackerman's carriage? I was sent from the main household to deliver a message to the Duke."

There's something wrong at his estate?

"It doesn't look like anyone working for us," a hushed voice, Farlan's, muttered from outside of the carriage.

Then-

"Don't question him any further-" Levi paused, finally removing his hand from my mouth. "The longer we're sitting here the more dangerous it is. His weapon looks like shit it shouldn't be a problem."

Was I thinking about ice cube hands and vampire conspiracies while we were in mortal danger-

I THOUGHT HE WAS SLOWLY REVEALING HIS TRUE NATURE TO ME AND THAT BY THE END OF THIS 'family road trip' HE WOULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT HE WAS A VAMPIRE :/

"What's happening?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

I'm afraid of talking. He might attack me with his ice cube hands again.

"Lady Y/N, you shouldn't worry about it," Farlan responded.

"You want to know?" Levi asked, shooting me a look of concern.

Is it really that insane of me to want to know about something that is happening 10 ft away from me?????

"Why would I not?????"

"You'll be upset," he stated sternly, his already deep frown deepening even more.

I'M ALREADY UPSET?

"So you're just going to make me sit here quietly while you continue to have a conversation right over me? I'm not stupid I hope you know that- I have ears and at least four brain cells." I grumbled in response.

"Having 'ears and four brain cells' won't change that fact that you'll be upset," Levi frowned.

I AM ALREADY UPSET.

"I don't understand why you're trying to be sensitive with my feelings- just tell me what's happening."

I'm genuinely starting to get upset

"You've lived your entire life in that shitty palace, do you really expect me to trust that you won't get upset over this? We don't have the time for you to throw a fit." His voice was cold- commanding.

None of that sits right with me.

I shouldn't push it though-

I don't fully know what's going on but judging on what he said earlier-

"Ok then," I turned away from him completely.

Be like that.

Now that I'm choosing to be mad and ignore him the silence is 20x more deafening.

Painful.

Then again it's not like I'm doing this for no reason.

Something big was obviously happening outside, I have the right to know what's going on if it pertains to my own safety.

Especially because someone got killed.

Someone got killed because they were in the way or because they were going to harm me?

Shouldn't I know?

WHATEVER I'LL JUST STAY QUIET UNTIL I CAN ASK HANJI.

"We're far away from that shitty palace," Levi muttered.

Is he speaking to himself? What's that supposed to mean?

"We won't get to Trost until early tomorrow," he continued, "the northern part of Sina is rural- with the exception of Trost and Stohess."

WHY IS HE TELLING ME THIS.

IDK MAYBE EXPOSITION REASONS????

MAYBE??? BUT STILL, WHY WOULD HE WANT ME TO KNOW THE NAMES OF TWO CITIES???

"There isn't a village for miles- the only towns are closer to the mines," he gestured to the mountains looming in the distance.

"These roads are used to bring minerals to the bigger cities down south to be refined," Levi looked to make sure I was paying attention before continuing. "It's nearly winter you'd have to be an idiot to head south now- you wouldn't make it back in time."

"These roads should be empty."

I think I'm getting murdered.
