"Is something happening?" I asked, coming into the library with a pile of books I had been reading.

it seemed like something was going on in the main hall-

but honestly if it has anything to do with eren i would rather not bother with it

i want to stop thinking about him for a second

"Actually hold on I don't want to hear it if it's about Eren-" I dropped my things on a table next to Levi.

trashy romance novels should be enjoyed with an empty mind

"All right then," Levi moved over on the plush couch he was sitting on, making room for me.

ARE YOU GOING TO CONTINUE THAT ?

"So?"

"You said you didn't want to hear it if it was about Eren," he hummed, flipping to the next page in his book.

....

MY PLAN HAS BACKFIRED

IN ASKING HIM NOT TO SAY I HAVE BECOME INCREDIBLY CURIOUS

"Make up something to say so I can pretend for a second."

"Hanji is setting up a fighting ring in the main hall."

...

"You're not even trying."

"You're right, I'm not," he looked at me over the book, smiling slightly.

YOU SUCK

"Try again," I sat next to him, pulling a blanket over the both of us, "I'll pretend that you haven't said anything."

"Isabel and Farlan are making preparations for a celebration tonight," Levi sighed, giving in.

you know .

it's still a bad lie because i know farlan already has too much on his plate to add something new

but at least he tried

"I don't know whether to be reassured by the fact that you suck at lying or worried," I muttered, leaning into his side.

"I'm good at lying-" Levi protested.

I MEAN ??

"You're an awful liar-"

"I lied about our relationship for several months."

"THAT DOESN'T COUNT-" I glanced up at him, "and besides we didn't even talk to anyone about it for most of that time- if anything I was the only one who actually had to actively lie about anything."

I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED

"I've lied about it several times to the King, you just weren't there," he rolled his eyes at me.

OK IM SORRY BUT

THE KING FORGETS ABOUT HIS OWN CHILDREN

I FEEL LIKE HE ISN'T THE HARDEST PERSON TO FOOL

"It shouldn't have even been hard," I grumbled, "at that point you already liked me, you weren't really lying."

"Maybe I was lying about that too."

sir .

"I am not above divorcing you over petty arguments."

I AM DOWN WITH DIVORCE
