The Spot

2009:

"Lisaaaaaa." Lauren whines at her older sister.

"What Laurie bug?" Lisa says with a hint of annoyance since she was trying to take a nap.

"Can we go to the spot?" Lauren asks with her big brown eyes.

Lisa smiles a little. "Oh alright, go get the little bunny."

Lauren jumps around in excitement before running off to go find Dani.

"Daaaaaaan." Lauren yells around the big house. She doesn't hear a response, but finally finds Dani sitting on top of the fridge. "What are you doing...?"

Dani shrugs. "Chillin like villian."

Lauren laughs. "Well come on, we are going to the spot."

Dani's face lights up instantly and jumps off the fridge like she's Spider-Man. 

Lisa comes down with her keys in hand. "Alright you two, come on."

The three of them run out to Lisa's car she shares with Katherine and Christina.

The trio jams out to music on the way to the river. They admire the gorgeous California trees and shrubs as they head towards their favorite cliff that overlooks a river.

Lisa parks the car and they walk a little father till they get to the cliff. They feel like they are on top of the world at this cliff.

Lauren smiles brightly and closes her eyes as the golden rays of the sun warms her face. Lisa quickly captures the moment with her phone. 

Yes it might be "the spot" for Dani, Lauren and Lisa, but it's Lauren that gets the most excitement out of the spot. Lisa loves seeing Lauren so happy and Dani loves tagging along with anything Lauren does.

Lauren finally opens her eyes and takes in all of the magic. The sweet smell of the flowers, the buzzing of the bees and the humming of the birds, the clear water rushing down slick rocks fifty feet below her.

2015

Lauren storms into the house, slamming the door behind her. Lisa and Dani jump out of the sudden noise as they were peacefully watching a movie just moments ago.

"Something tells me her date didn't go well..." Dani says quietly as the stomping of Lauren's footsteps fade away the farther she acedents up the staircase.

"I think we should take her to the spot." Lisa says to Dani. "I'll go talk to her."

Lisa heads towards their shared room and gently opens the door to see Lauren bawling her eyes out on her bed.

"What happened..."? Lisa asks tentivley.

"He-he...stood me up." Lauren cries. "For another girl."

Lisa's eyes widen. "Oh my God that little..."

"Lisa save it...don't worry about it." Lauren sniffles.

"Do you want to go to the cliff?" Lisa asks, hoping to cheer Lauren up.

Lauren still looks heart broken but nods her head slowly. "Yes please:" She answers quietly.

The two walk downstairs again and see Dani already by the door.

"Come on Losers." Dani smiles and runs out the door. The two older girls shake their heads but they can't help but laugh.
