CHAPTER THREE:
LEAVING PHOENIX

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?" Estella shouted as August entered the home. August scrunched her face up at the sound of Estella's loud voice.

"Estella, not now. I have a headache." August mumbled, walking into the kitchen and getting herself a glass of water as well as some pain medication.

"Why would you keep these from me?!" Estella shouted, slamming the many letters onto the table counter. August jumped at the loud sound and turned to face her niece. Estella was angry. Her jaw was clenched and her hands were crossed angrily over her chest. August put down the glass of water as she looked at the letters.

"Estella-"

"I asked you over and over again for the past I don't know, four years if you knew where my sister was. You said 'I don't know' and you lied. What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Estella snarled.

"Estella look I-"

"If you apologize to me so help me god August I will slap your hangover into the next goddamn state." Estella stepped closer towards her, shoving her finger at her. "You kept the location of my sister away from me. You kept these letter's that you've been getting for years a secret. You kept the letter that my sister wrote me. You kept it from me!"

"Estella, please, stop yelling. You're making my head-"

"I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR HEAD! You need to suck it up! You were jealous of my mother because she got her life together while your marriage fell apart because you couldn't get your shit together! You took that out on Luna, and you kicked her out! And now, you're sleeping around and taking it out on me! STOP BEING A WHORE AND BE MY GUARDIAN LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO!"

"You will not use that tone with me young lady!" August quickly said.

"Oh really? Now you're going to be that guardian? Now you're going to act like a forty-six-year-old instead of a teenager. I'm the teenager, you're the adult!"

"It's not like I had a choice! I was forced to take you in! I didn't want you here anyways!" August quickly snapped. Estella retaliated at the words. The sad thing was, Estella wasn't even surprised at her words. She was just surprised that she actually admitted it. August, realizing what she said, looked at Estella. "Estella, I'm sorry-"

"Don't. Don't apologize if you don't mean it." Estella seethed. She shook her head. "It's whatever, I'm leaving anyways." Estella left the room and ran up the steps, August quickly followed her. Estella slammed the bedroom door in her face as she grabbed a suitcase. She started to throw all of her clothes in their. Once that suitcase was full, she grabbed another and started to throw her sketchbooks, art supplies, and everything else in it including the letter her sister had wrote her.

"Estella!" August slammed her fist multiple times against the door, but Estella ignored her. Double checking her room to make sure she had everything, she grabbed the two suitcases as well as her purse that had her wallet and phone in it. Estella quickly opened her bedroom door with her two suitcases in tow. Estella ignored the yells coming from her aunt as she made her way down the steps. She grabbed her aunts car keys and walked out of the home. She threw her suitcase into the trunk.

"Where are you going!?" August shouted. "Why are you taking my car?!"

"First of all, it's my car. I bought it with my money! Second of all, I'm going to go find out where the hell my sister is!" Estella responded before entering the car and quickly speeding out of the driveway. Estella didn't usually rely on the money her parents had, but right now she was. Estella had absolutely no idea where she was going, and she had no idea where this so called town of Forks was.

"Who names a town after a utensil?" Estella asked, her eyebrows scrunching as she shook her head. "People are so stupid nowadays. Maybe there's a town called spoons as well." Estella turned on the radio, flipping through the channels and decided she hated everything that was playing. She stopped at the stop sign and reached over into the glove department before pulling out the CD case that held all of her families CD's. She flipped through them before finding the one that read "Luna's Mix".  Estella put in the CD and immediately started to smile when Paramore's The Only Exception started to play.

Estella sped through the streets until she was out of Phoenix. Her fingers tapped along to the rhythm of the music. Her face scrunched up when NSYNC started to play. Estella quickly skipped the song and let out a soft chuckle when Never Alone by the Barlow Girls started to play. This was her song that she and Luna adored.

"Even when you're not with me, sis. You're still with me." Estella mused, shaking her head. "Also, where the hell am I? Care to like, direct me through the stars somehow, Lunar? I feel like I'm in California or some shit. I don't even know the state that Forks is in. Maybe I should look shit up before I decide to go on a long ass road trip."  She paused. "Maybe I should stop talking to myself so that people don't think I'm crazy."

She continued through the night, singing along to her sisters CD's.

"Just take those old records off the shelf. I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself. Today's music ain't got the same soul. I like that old time rock 'n' roll!" Estella belted out the lyrics, a smile on her face. Soon she needed to find a hotel so that she could sleep and possibly eat. She had a GPS attached to the windshield and it's annoying voice as well as the music was the only thing keeping her awake.

Estella didn't know what happened. She looked over at the GPS before looking back at the road only to harshly slam on breaks when a person appeared in front of her. She let out a squeal of surprise when her car finally came to a stop. She swallowed thickly before unbuckling her seat belt and throwing open her door. Estella hopped out of the car.

"Sir? Are you alright?" She quickly asked. She stopped however when there was no one there. She looked around with furrowed eyebrows. "Sir! Hello? Am I just seeing my inner demons now? That's great. Sleep deprivation, such a lovely thing." Estella walked back to her car with a huff. Just as she was about to enter the vehicle someone grabbed onto her and before she could scream, fangs were inserted to the side of her neck. Estella let out a gasp of surprise as she fell to her knees. She let out a screams of agony as everything felt like it was on fire.

What the hell was happening to her? Why did everything hurt? Who was that man that had just attacked her?
