CHAPTER NINE: ARE YOU OKAY?
"ALLY? ARE YOU OKAY?" Luna asked as she came back from hunting. She had never seen such a saddened look on Alice's face. Ever. Luna's eyebrows were furrowed in worry as she walked up to the pixie girl. Alice quickly put a smile on her face.
"Yeah, I'm good."
"Oh no. You don't get to do that, I'm the professional at saying I'm fine when really I'm not. Spill. What's wrong?" Luna quickly said. She forced everyone's hearing to be toned down so that they couldn't hear the conversation. "It's just you and me. No one else can hear us."
Luna pulled the girl over to the couch and forced her to sit down. Worry was clear on Luna's face seeing as Alice wasn't her usual bubbly and happy-go-lucky self.
"What happened, Alice?" Luna's soft spoken voice appeared as she looked at the smallest vampire.
"It's so frustrating." Alice huffed. "It's like, even though her face is blurred in my visions, whenever said vision is going to take place, completely different scenarios happen that I don't even get a glimpse of."
"Who, Alice?" Luna asked. That's right, Luna had absolutely no idea that her little sister was supposed to be Alice's mate. No matter how many scenarios Alice would see, Luna's reaction would always end in a way Alice didn't want. So, when Luna asked the question, Alice swallowed.
"Uhm. . . you can't be mad." Alice started.
"Who, Alice?" Luna asked again, although it sounded more like a demand.
"Estella." Alice mumbled. Luna blinked in surprise.
"What?"
"It's Estella. She, um, she's sort of my mate. . ." Alice spoke. Luna's eyes widened in surprise.
"She's your mate?" Alice nodded her head. "Why the hell didn't you tell me this sooner?"
"Because every time I went to tell you, the outcome always ended like this." Alice quickly said.
"How long have you known, Alice?" Luna asked, completely and utterly baffled at the news.
"Well, I never realy knew who it was until she came here-"
"That doesn't answer my question. You had a vision of her coming right? When." Luna dismissed.
Alice started to mess with her fingers. "Since after the battle with the Volturi. . ."
"TWO YEARS?!" Luna shouted, standing up from her spot on the couch. Maybe she was overreacting, but she didn't care. Luna stopped and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath as Alice stood up as well. "What happened?"
"Well, I told Estella about the mate bond. She kind of went on a rant about how much the mate bond sucked. I told her she could try to ignore it, but before I could finish she agreed with that and walked away." Alice explained. Luna ran a hand down her face as she took another deep breath.
