CHAPTER SEVEN: ANIMAL BLOOD
ESTELLA WAS CONFUSED AND angry. Out of all of the things that she was expecting, she was not expecting the reaction that her sister had given her. She realized that she had left her car over at the Cullen household, so therefore she would have to travel on foot. Her throat held a fiery burning sensation and she needed to feed. Her sisters words kept echoing in her head. And for a moment, she was curious as to what animal blood tasted like. And so, she decided to try it.
She wandered around in the woods for a split second before hearing the sound of a herd of deer. She smirked to herself before carefully making her way over and then attacking. The deer scattered around as she jumped on top of one. It struggled under her grip and Estella frowned slightly. She was curious on how her sister could manage killing innocent animals. The older Star girl could barely hurt a fly without feeling sorry for it.
Estella kept her tight grasp on the creature and finally sunk her teeth into its neck, drinking the animals blood until there was nothing left. She pulled away and scrunched her face up in disgust. Luna was right about it being able to somewhat control the thirst, but Estella was right about it being awful. It tasted tangy unlike human blood that tasted sweet and delightful. Estella had a feeling that she was going to have to get used to this disturbing taste, especially if she wanted to stick around with her sister.
No matter what Estella said, she would never leave Luna. Not again. Besides, Estella wanted to meet this vampire family of hers. She also wanted to give Jasper a piece of her mind for leaving her sister, driving her to attempt suicide which resulted in her being turned into a vampire. She was positive that Luna would try to stop her, but she was still a newborn, and could still find a way to kick his ass.
Estella had learned a few things about the family members just by living through Luna's past. She knew the names and the faces, knew bits and pieces of some of their stories but not all of them. There was Esme and Carlisle, the parent figures of the family. Carlisle was a doctor and Esme designed their entire home. There was Edward, who Estella hated because from what she saw from Luna's past, he was an ass. And a professional brooder. There was the drop dead gorgeous blonde that Estella most definitely had a crush on, Rosalie. Then there was Emmett, the big guy with the caring attitude. And of course there was the best friend, Bella and her daughter Renesmee. And Jasper, the one that killed newborns way back when.
Estella was sure that she was missing one, but she couldn't remember the little vampire's name. All Estella knew was that the girl had visions of the future. Of course, she had absolutely no idea how ironic it was that her mate could see the future whilst she could see the past. Estella tried to remember the girl's name but it was blank, almost as if the universe had purposefully wanted her to avoid anything about the girl. Estella shook her head, kicking the ground as she continued through the woods.
"Estella!" The sound of her older sisters voice grabbed her attention. She shook her head, smirking slightly to herself. How Luna had found her, she would never know. Then again, she was married to Jasper who was probably amazing at tracking people's scents. She stopped, looking up to the sky as she waited for Luna to appear.
"Estella, there you are." Luna breathed. She looked at Estella for a moment before sighing. She took a step forward before speaking. "I need you to understand that I love you, and that you are my family. And for the longest time I thought you were dead, but to find out you aren't, it makes me happy. It makes me so very happy. But you need to understand that the Cullen's, they're my family also. I mean, Jasper's my husband so that makes me related to them by marriage. Bella's been my best friend since we were little. Renesmee is my little dove as I like to call her. I've built a life with these people. It took me almost an entire year to heal from the deaths of you, mom, and dad."
"Can I ask you something?" Estella asked, slowly turning to face her.
"As long as it doesn't involve you insulting me and then running away, then sure." Luna said with a small smile. Estella lightly chuckled before tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear.
"Do they make you happy? Does he make you happy?" Estella gently asked. Luna was surprised by the question, but a smile quickly took over her features. A real smile. One that would light up the entire room. The smile that Estella had so desperately missed seeing.
"Yeah, yeah he really does. I love him more than I ever thought possible. I've never felt this way before about anyone. Estella, if you just get to know them, you'll see why they are my second family."
"Second?"
"What? Just because mom and dad are dead―︎ and you for a shot amount of time―︎doesn't mean you aren't my first family. You'll always be my family. You'll always be my little Stellar." Luna smiled. Estella sped towards her sister before pulling her in for a bone crushing hug. Luna hugged her back, not taking note of the amount of strength Estella was using.
"I love you, Lunar." Estella muttered, her face nuzzling into the crook of her older siblings neck.
"I love you too, Stellar." Luna smiled. She pulled away, looking at her sister. "What do you say I take you to officially meet the family?"
"I would like that. Can't promise I won't be a bitch though." Estella said, looping her arm with her sisters. Luna looked at her, patting her arm.
"Well, try."
