CHAPTER FIFTEEN:
WILLING TO TRY

THE GOLD WAS FINALLY starting to appear in her eyes, that was due to the fact that Estella had been gone all day. She had been hunting to clear her mind off of things, and found that the taste was starting to become easier to tolerate. Estella stood up from the fifth dear she had attacked and wiped her mouth free of the blood.

The past week had been consisted of Estella getting used to the taste of the animal blood, and once again ignoring Alice. She couldn't do it. She couldn't love someone. Too many insecurities came along with the factor. Alice had been trying to talk to the girl all week, but Estella would just brush her off. Alice was confused. She didn't understand what it was that she had done. When they last talked, everything was perfectly fine―︎or at least, she thought it was.

"So, this is what you've been doing the past week." Luna hummed, appearing from the trees. Estella turned around to face her older sibling who was just looking at her with an amused smile, her arms crossed over her chest.

"I'm sorry, okay." Estella huffed.

"Don't apologize to me. I don't care." Luna shrugged. "I just wanted to see what you were doing."

"I'm trying to get rid of the red in my eyes. It's slowly starting to creep me out." Estella answered with the shrug of her shoulders.

"Mhm, now the truth." Luna cocked a perfect eyebrow at her sister.

Estella sighed and was quiet for a moment before she finally mumbled, "I'm hiding from Alice."

"That's what I thought." Luna hummed before tossing her sister a clean shirt that wasn't covered in animal blood. Estella caught it before quickly changing, tossing the dirtied shirt to Luna. Luna balled the shirt up in her hand before offering her sister a small smile. "Alright, well, I'll leave you be. If you need me, you know where to find me."

Estella watched her sister start to walk away before she quickly called out her name. "Luna!" Luna stopped and turned to face her younger sibling with a questioning look. "Can you give me some of your wise advice?"

"I've already given you a lot of wise advice, and you have yet to listen to any of it." Luna pointed out to the girl. Estella gave her a pleading look and Luna softly sighed. She looked her sister right in the eyes as she spoke her next words. "Live a little. Make mistakes. Love whoever the hell you want to, because no one can tell you otherwise. Take chances. Take risks. And Estella, just so you know, it's okay to not be okay. It's okay to be scared. It's okay to have doubts. But it's not okay to let those things keep you from getting what you really want."

Estella gave a small smile to her sibling as she nodded her head. "Thanks."

"Anytime, Stellar."

"Ughhhhh." Estella groaned to herself. She was sitting in the middle of the forest, has been for the past hour, pondering on what she wanted to do when suddenly she heard running coming towards her. She furrowed her eyebrows and stood up from her spot. She almost jumped in surprise when Alice appeared right in front of her. "Alice what're you doing-"

"What did I do?" She asked with a frown. Her eyes were pleading. She looked like she was going to go insane if she didn't figure out what she had done wrong.

"Alice, you haven't done anything wrong-"

"Then why are you avoiding me?" Alice quickly asked. "I don't understand. One minute we're talking and being friends the next you're ignoring me for no reason. Help me understand, please. If you don't want to be with me as more than friends, that's fine, I don't care. At least when we're friends I can talk to you, and be near you. I can't stand it when you're upset with me, especially when I don't understand what it was that I've done-"

"I'm in love with you, Alice! That's what's wrong!" Estella quickly cut the pixie off.

"I. . . what?" Her eyebrows were furrowed as she looked up at the blonde.

"I'm in love with you, Alice. I've been avoiding you because I don't know how to handle my feelings." Estella answered her with a small frown, guilt starting to cover her features. "And I'm scared, Alice. I'm really fucking scared because I always manage to screw things up, and I really don't want to hurt you. Though, now I realize I've been doing that from the beginning and I'm sorry, Alice. I really am sorry."

"Estella, there's only one way you can hurt me." Alice told her. "And it would be by telling me the exact opposite of what you just told me. I'm scared too, whether I act it or not. Estella, I can't see your face in my visions. It's blurry. And that terrifies me that I don't know what our future is going to be, but I'm willing to let it play out on its own. But, only if you're willing to as well."

Estella nodded her head at the girl. "I think I am."

"Good." Alice smiled.
