CHAPTER EIGHT: MATE BOND
"AT LEAST BE A level five bitch and not a level ten. Can you at least do that?" Luna asked as they stood back in front of the Cullen house hold. Estella looked at her before letting out a huff.
"Fine. I'll be a level five-point-nine bitch." Estella said with a smile.
"You enjoy making my life difficult, don't you?" Luna asked.
"Yes, yes I do."
They entered the home and Luna stopped Estella, silently telling her to wait. Estella complied, watching as her sister walked up the steps. Renesmee, Rosalie, and Emmett were already in the living room. Rosalie offered Luna a small smile while Renesmee stopped what she was doing so that she could get up and hug Luna.
"Hello, dove." Luna smiled, hugging the girl back.
"Did you find her?" Emmett asked, wrapping an arm around Rosalie's shoulders. Luna nodded her head.
"Yeah, and I actually want everyone in here because she wants to officially meet you all." Luna spoke. She waited for the rest of the family to come into the room, Jasper sharing a quick kiss with her. She looked at them all before sighing. "I would like to go ahead and formally apologize for what she's about to do. She does it with anyone she meets, so please don't take any offense."
Luna walked back down the stairs and grabbed Estella's hand. The two siblings walked back up the steps and Estella's eyes fell over every single one of them. She smirked to herself as Luna placed her to be in front of them.
"Everyone, this is Estella, my little sister. Estella this is Carlisle, Esme, Rose, Emmett, Bella, Edward, Renesmee, Jasper, and Alice."
"Okay, my turn." Estella smiled. She looked to Esme and Carlisle first. "We have the doctor and the construction worker." She looked at Rosalie and Emmett. "Queen bitch and polar bear." Rosalie's lip curled up into a snarl and Estella's smirk widened before she looked to Bella, Edward, and Renesmee. "The troublemaker best friend. The professional brooder. And the little half-breed that almost caused World War III." She looked to Jasper. "And of course, we have the Texas Major that abandoned my sister which resulted in her killing herself only for her to be turned by a redhead bitch named Victoria. How she still loves you after all that, I will never know."
Luna cocked an eyebrow at her sister at the long name, but Estella just shrugged her shoulder as she smirked. Luna rolled her eyes with a sigh as Estella looked at Alice. "And then, we have the psychotic pixie."
"Wow." Luna breathed. "I said not to be a total bitch."
"Hey, I was being nice." Estella defended.
"We have completely different definition of nice." Luna muttered. Estella smiled at her sister as gave her a side hug.
"It's nice to meet you all." Estella kindly smiled.
"Are you sure you and Luna are related?" Edward asked, cocking his head slightly. Estella stared at him, smirking when his eyes widened slightly at the thoughts that she silently yelled at him. He nodded. "Right. I'm going to go hunt." He stood up and left the room.
"What did you say to him?" Luna asked with an amused smile.
"Something that will never make him question if we're related or not ever again." Estella responded with a smile.
"It was nice to meet you Estella, but I must be off." Carlisle nodded towards the younger blonde. He said goodbye before leaving for the hospital.
"Moons, wanna come hunt with me?" Bella asked.
"Only if Jasper comes. I don't want to be stuck out there by myself with you and Edward." Luna said, scrunching her nose up. Bella let out an amused laugh. Luna looked over at Jasper and cocked an eyebrow at him.
"Of course I'll come." Jasper nodded. Luna moved away from Estella to take Jasper's outstretched hand. He twirled her around, causing her to smile before she interlocked their fingers. Luna looked at her sister.
"Behave. Please."
Estella saluted her. "Yes, ma'am."
Luna rolled her eyes before glancing at Rosalie and Emmett, motioning them to join as well. The five left the room leaving Renesmee, Estella, and Alice in the room. Renesmee left the room, skipping towards the kitchen so that she could fix her something to eat.
"Hi. I'm, Alice."
Estella turned her head to look at the pixie, nodding her head. "I know." There was silence as Estella examined the room. For once, Alice had no idea what to say. She was speechless. The girl that was standing in front of her was absolutely breath taking. She had long blonde hair, perfect features, a perfect body structure. Estella Star was absolutely beautiful.
"Is there something you need, or are you just going to stand there and stare at me?" Estella asked with a huff. She turned her head back towards Alice, and their eyes met. Just like that, something clicked. Estella stood there frozen as she felt something connect. Estella had absolutely no idea what was happening. One minute Alice Cullen was just another vampire, the next, Estella suddenly wanted everything to do with her. It made her take a step back.
But, Estella only wanted to come closer. She wanted to be as close to the pixie-like vampire as she possibly could. She wanted to hold her tiny frame against her own. Kiss her perfect lips. Estella didn't like these thoughts. They made her seem desperate. She barely knew this vampire and all of a sudden, she wanted everything to do with her? That wasn't right. Estella was missing something.
Alice, however, knew exactly what had just happened. The mate bond had been activated. And Estella looked so confused and scared. Estella then started to talk to herself as the provocative thoughts started to plague her mind.
"I don't get." She muttered to herself. "Why are you so different from the others?" Of course, the younger Star sibling hadn't realized she had said these things out loud so when Alice responded, she looked up at her, surprised.
"I'm supposed to be. I am your mate after all." Alice's voice was shy and calm as she spoke, but the last part immediately brought out her bubbly side. She was excited to have finally found her other half.
"I'm sorry? Mate? What the hell is a mate?" Estella asked.
"You don't know?"
"I don't think I want to." Estella responded.
"It's what Jasper and Luna are. It's basically someone that is your other half. As vampires, we have mates. When we meet that certain person, our world suddenly revolves around them. Everything is about them. Every thought. Every feeling. It revolves around that person."
"So, basically you don't have a choice." Estella deadpans.
"Well. . . no, not really."
"Well that's bullshit." Estella huffed. Alice frowned. "Having to be forced with someone the universe chooses for you? That sucks. You don't even get an option."
"Well, you can choose to ignore the mate bond-"
"Great! I'm going to do exactly that!" Estella said with a smile before moving past her and walking up the steps to explore the house, completely unaware of how deeply she had hurt Alice Cullen's feelings.
