A Little Nudge

It has been days since Kaoru and I have broke up, I still haven't been to school. I mean seriously, what the hell am I supposed to do? Watch him every day knowing that he's going to be taking Haruhi out on some stupid date? I refuse to do that, so I've been at home working on anything and everything.

"Tadashi, can you help me?"

"What do you need help with, Shiro?"

"I need some help with my English homework, the language is just so confusing to understand."

"It definitely is, the language is just some huge mess honestly. Let me help you out."

I helped him for the last couple hours, trying to explain the difference in each word, depending on the setting it would be used in. To say it was complicated, would be an understatement. But Shiro eventually understood what I was explaining, which I was happy about.

"You know, you should really go back to school soon. Kaoru has been acting a bit weird since you've been gone."

"I'm not going back until next week, unless he comes here to talk to me. But I don't see it happening honestly, so might as well until next week."

"What's going on between you two? I haven't seen you this down before."

"Things happen, but I guess you could say that I'm just not ready to go back quite yet. Besides I also have to work just to take over dad's company. So, this really works out for me honestly."

"Does Koharu know what's going on?"

"Nope, I haven't told her anything about it yet. I don't want her getting involved, she has her own issues to go through at the moment."

"What do you mean?"

"Just schoolwork and some other things. Now, I'm going to go work on my work, good luck with your English."

I left Shiro with his homework, heading to my room. Once I was inside my room, I began my my work. I didn't realize how much time flew by until I heard someone knocking on my door. I got up from my desk, opening my door to see Koharu grinning.

"Time for us to get some food! Let's go, the others are waiting for us."

I followed behind her, heading to the dining room. We all sat down and we began eating, not talking to each other, which was rather odd.

"Tadashi, how are you and Kaoru doing? I haven't seen him come here in awhile."

"We're alright, we both have been busy with schoolwork, that's all. Although I will be going to University next week, like I should have been at the start of the year."

"You settled for the one at Ouran, right? I heard that it's still pretty good compared to your other school."

"Yeah, I didn't want to leave my friends behind, ya know? It just makes it easier to see them, and I won't be away from you guys."

"I'm so happy about that! I get to see my little lime all the time still."

"I still have to work on my school stuff mom, so it won't be all the time. Then the host club is always going on adventures as well, so I probably won't have too much time to hang out with Yuki or anyone else for that matter."

"He does have a point dear, he also has to work on taking over my company."

"Why won't you let me have my fun? I know all that, I just want to keep seeing my little boy every day, before he officially leaves the house."

"Mom, Tadashi isn't a little boy, he's a freaking giant. Are you going to call him that when he's an old man?"

"She can call me whatever she wants Koharu, just like how dad sees you as his little princess."

After that conversation just flowed naturally, which I was happy about. I don't like the awkward atmosphere while we eat food, it just doesn't suit us. I don't even know why were that awkward in the first place.

"I'm stuffed, so I'm heading up to my room, goodnight guys."

"Goodnight!"

Koharu's POV

After Tadashi left the dinner table, I turned towards my parents.

"I told you didn't I? Something happened between him and Kaoru. I'm not sure what though, but something happened. Kaoru's the reason why he hasn't gone to school, but now he's going to the university instead."

Mom sighed picking at her food. I know mom could tell that something was off the moment he stopped coming to school. I just want to see my brother back to the way he was before.

"I think you should let them resolve their issues Koharu."

"But they haven't even talked to each other yet dad! How do we know they're going to resolve things?"

"That's all up to them. You shouldn't be getting involved, it is their business, not ours. All we can do is be there for him, if things take a turn for the worse. That's what he did for you, when you were going through the mess with that boy."

"He's right Koharu, it's not your place nor mine to do anything. We may be worried, but that doesn't mean we have any right to do anything. But I don't think a little nudge would do too much harm."

"Sakura, don't encourage her."

"You know I just want my little lime happy."

If mom agrees, then I should figure out what happened. I'm definitely talking to Kaoru tomorrow to see what's going on. I get the feeling that he would know what's got my brother so down in the dumps. I finished my dinner and I headed up to my room for the night, planning on what I was going to say to Kaoru tomorrow.
